Features of the material
Facades made of painted MDF have literally burst into the furniture market in recent years and have rightfully taken a leading position. Kitchen furniture made from painted MDF is very durable and reliable, it competes with wooden furniture and is in no way inferior to it in either beauty or practicality. The thing is that the production of painted MDF does not involve the presence of harmful chemical compounds and is environmentally friendly. The board consists of tiny grains of wood dust, which, when exposed to high temperatures, release a substance called lignin.
The latter, in combination with paraffin after pressing, promotes the formation of a dense monolithic material. Despite the strength of painted MDF, it is very practical in the manufacture of products, as it tends to sag under high temperatures, which allows you to make the furniture elegant. Its shape can be oval or round; the material allows you to make facades with carved patterns and other original decorative elements.
By painting MDF panels you can create any original design

What is an MDF kitchen?
This name arose for a reason; its initials mean that the kitchen was made from sawdust, which was compressed and then made into one or another kitchen.
In another way, such kitchens are also called “with MDF facades”; this name fully characterizes these kitchens, because they are made of laminated chipboard.

Minuses
The main disadvantage is the fairly high price, especially compared to film facades. The relatively high price is explained by the complexity of the technology used to apply the enamel. The more layers of enamel, the more durable the facade, but also the more expensive it is.
Secondly, facades covered with enamel need to be treated especially carefully compared to plastic or film ones. Painted facades are susceptible to mechanical damage; a scratch may appear from a slight physical impact. And it will be noticeable. Therefore, you should not clean painted surfaces with abrasive cleaners.
Third, it is impossible to imitate any natural material. Well, maybe just to imitate a metal surface. The surface of wood, stone, leather, fabric - none of this can be achieved, only a certain even color or its transitions from one to another.

Choice of decorative and color designs
Purchasing a kitchen with MDF facades is an opportunity not only to choose the appropriate shade from several hundred possible options, but also to receive a coating with the already mentioned special effect in the following options:
- Chameleon. The facades are distinguished by shades that change depending on the viewing angle and the incidence of light.
- Patination or crackle. Surfaces with an aged effect are created, appropriate in a classic interior or Provence style.
- Mother-of-pearl or pearls. After painting, the facades are additionally coated with a composition that provides a color shift or a hazy shimmer.
- Metallic. The enamel is immediately mixed with special substances that give a metallic shine.
Metallic is beautiful not only on a car.
You can also use facades with a pattern that is applied to the surface over the enamel using a stencil manually. You can select the color of the image individually (monochrome or special effects are possible). After applying several layers of varnish on top, the facade is polished. The layout of the drawing can be drawn up by the customer.

How to paint furniture facades and MDF cabinets
Painting MDF with enamel, varnishing, and applying patina is carried out in a special chamber with excess pressure, equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation, which supplies heated air through a filter system to the painting area. The spray booth allows you to minimize the number of dust particles on painted facades and improves the quality of painting MDF and other materials.
For painting we use paint and varnish materials from Mobihel, Renner, Novol and other companies, as well as 3M and Sunmight abrasives.

Painting glass for furniture facades
Painted glass can be an alternative to Lakobel glass.
The main advantages of painted glass:
- Almost unlimited color range;
- There is no need to purchase a sheet of a strictly defined format, which allows you to save on leftovers;
- Reasonable cost.
Enamels can be applied both to high-quality M1 glass and to special coated glass, which has virtually no intrinsic tint, which is especially important when painting with white enamels; however, coated glass is more expensive.
