White living room: design features, photos, combinations with other colors

White living room furniture is the quintessence of style and elegance. It brings a note of freshness to the interior and gives it a light and airy character.

White is a very fun and versatile color that offers a lot of design possibilities. You can easily select all the necessary additives for such furniture, creating a warm and cozy interior. Properly selected white furniture for the living room will please both lovers of classic and modern interiors.

When choosing furniture, you should keep in mind not only the size of the room, but also the style in which it is decorated. If you don’t know how to choose and buy a white wall for the living room, then we will give you a few ideas that will help you, and also recommend how to decorate the room in different styles, how to choose additives and accessories.

Gray and white kitchen-living room interiors. Fashionable achromatics

A monochrome palette of shades of gray and white allows you to harmoniously combine furniture and decoration elements into a coherent interior composition. Liveliness is brought in by small accents of different colors.

An open plan kitchen-living room is always created to feel spacious. For the same reasons, many designers use white. But this is far from its only advantage, because it allows for easy visual zoning using simple elements (for example, a black column as in the photo above), without adding unnecessary shades to the interior.

Bourgeois minimalism in the interior of a spacious white kitchen

In the photo: Interior of a gray and white kitchen in a minimalist style

White kitchens are loved by our customers. They can be found both in classic and modern style projects. The interior in the spirit of bourgeois minimalism in the photo above is direct proof that this color is relevant for any style and their combinations. The floor covering is also interesting here, represented by ceramic parquet of different tones, laid in a herringbone pattern and beautifully combined with a granite splashback and countertop.

Gray marble and silver metallic in the interior of a white kitchen-dining room

The interior of this kitchen with a peninsula looks incredibly sophisticated and completely modern. Our designers used gray shades to contrast the whiteness of the furniture, walls and countertops in the dining room. And dark gray shades in the details helped add depth to the interior. The tabletop of the set and its apron are made of natural stone with white, gray and dark gray veins.

Atmospheric kitchen with island and marble countertops

In the photo: Kitchen design in white with marble countertops

On kitchen facades with an island, white will look very advantageous. Thanks to it, you can visually combine two headset modules (standard and island) and make them look like one. Don’t forget about the fashion trend - a multi-modular lamp directly above the island!

Accents in a snow-white living room

The design of a white living room, of course, will not be complete without including details of other shades. The versatility of color allows you to choose completely different accents - from cream to black. Here you don’t have to think too much about how to dilute a monochromatic interior, how to decorate a wall in the living room, how to make it harmonious. The main task is to choose decor that matches the style of the overall concept.

In the classics these are vases, statues and columns. Minimalism is decorated with functional elements, and Provence is decorated with paintings and household items. A Scandinavian-style living room will be made harmonious by personal items, cozy textiles, books and a couple of paintings. Its design in snowy tones will be complemented by the natural texture of the wood, which will also act as a decoration for the decor.

Among the stylish accessories that are appropriate in a white interior:

  • Modular pictures;
  • photos with macro shots;
  • family collages;
  • original lamps;
  • aquariums with petals or pebbles;
  • biofireplaces.

Alternating light pastel and white shades helps achieve a stunning effect in a modern variation of a classic interior. Look at the photo above - a white classic sofa and armchairs, a fireplace and a coffee table are incredibly organically combined with classic wooden parquet and luxurious dark curtains.

Today, large panels, photo wallpapers, posters, and accent walls are often used in children's rooms. And so that there are not too many bright colors that make the bedroom look too chaotic, our professionals use white furniture to complement them. In this nursery, for example, on the walls there is a magically beautiful panel with the theme of a fairytale forest, emerald color, rich and complex. Agree, white was simply necessary here!

Practical interior of a dressing room

White storage can be the perfect solution for a walk-in closet. It looks laconic and does not distract attention from the clothes themselves, because on a light background you can more clearly distinguish shades, so it is more convenient for you to combine outfits. And in general, dark wood in a small room does not always look good.

In this modern bedroom for two schoolchildren, our designer designed two bedrooms and two workplaces, provided not only spacious wardrobes (behind the scenes), but also a convenient system for placing writing instruments, books and textbooks, and a place for a TV. The children themselves also liked the white color!

In a children's room, white can be used in both boys' and girls' bedrooms. It is the perfect backdrop for any accent or theme shade - blue, pink, yellow, green, lilac or blue. White color has a beneficial effect on the mood of children, so they are less capricious and tired.

And this stunning bedroom with floral murals and pastel (lilac and pink) accents is a teen girl's room. We used white furniture here - a wardrobe, a shelf, a chest of drawers, a desk and a boudoir table - to create an atmosphere of lightness and romance in the interior.

The exceptionally glamorous white neoclassical bedroom in the photo above was created by our designers for the owner of this apartment. There is an atmosphere of French sophistication with many decorative details.

Black and white interior style

To create a dynamic environment, a contrasting design is suitable, because after all, this room is not intended for sleeping in, but for communicating with friends and relatives, receiving guests and celebrating big holidays and important events.

As surprising as it may be, when using two different shades, very interesting and incredible results are achieved. For example, you can never get tired of black and white design; it is incredibly individual and dramatic.

If you add only one bright accent option to this interior design option, change the decor at least every day. Indeed, in this case, it is enough to “change” the pillows or bring new textiles into the room, and it will look different.

The design looks quite interesting when the window frames or doorways are made in black. Thanks to modern technologies, double-glazed windows can be ordered in any color scheme, and you will be limited by the amount of money you have.

White walls in the interior of the apartment. Decorative bricks and 3D panels

Snow-white walls allow you to make other colors of the interior as saturated and bright as possible. In addition, modern options for embossed wall decoration give the designer the opportunity to achieve an exquisite play of light and shadow, skillfully combining different textures.

Shades of white can be combined with each other - pearl and mother-of-pearl, ivory and snow-white with gloss. By combining them, layering them on top of each other and creating variety through reliefs, shapes and textures, you can get a stunningly spectacular interior!

Today, many people like an interior based on black and white. Thanks to the bright and effective contrast of these two colors, the interior feels very glamorous and slightly futuristic. Lamps became the focal point of this project.

White brick and sliding interior doors in the hallway

In almost all interiors in the minimalist style, white plays a decisive role. Corridors, bathrooms, kitchens and loggias are popular in white; it is also used in living rooms, even if they are actually spacious and bright.

Brick finishing often makes the interior too brutal. This is good for a loft or country style, but not at all suitable for bright bedrooms or modern living rooms. Our designers precisely adjust each of the fashionable trends in decoration to a specific room in shades and format.

Interiors of the corridor, hallway and hall in white colors

And to create a glamorous mood in a small hallway, you will need not only white color, but also white marble, which adds discreet aristocracy to any neoclassical interior.

At the Fundament Group of Companies, we create not only exceptionally beautiful, but also exclusive interiors for hallways and corridors, which take into account redevelopment. In the photo above, between the hallway and the living room, we built in a comfortable ottoman for the owner of the apartment and placed a built-in dressing room here.

White hallway design option with mirror finish

The project of this spacious hallway displays several fashionable design trends for 2022, including a mirror finish with a console table, white doors, luxurious high baseboards, and a porcelain stoneware floor with ornaments. In general, the interior turned out to be bright and absolutely exclusive. The mirror finish, by the way, here has dimensions of approximately 3 by 2 meters!

The classic style in corridor design requires special attention. If you add a white or light gray background to the exquisitely complex ornate elements, the interior will turn out to be even more modern and fashionable.

Contrast of black and white in a small hallway

In the photo: The combination of black and white in the hallway

Light colors, mirror finishes and many small light sources can visually expand the space of the room, so in small hallways and narrow corridors it is recommended to paint the walls white.

Floor decoration

There are many people for whom a light carpet on the floor in the living room plays a huge role. But such morals are quite understandable and logical. Thus, people strive for constant cleanliness and regular freshness. And modern trends dictate such a fashion when the floors are decorated with snow-white gloss. They perfectly increase the space, on the other hand, during maintenance and cleaning they conceal some nuances in terms of load. Against a white background, light dirt and dust are difficult to see, but at the same time, any imprint can be seen on the gloss, be it after walking barefoot, or from the paws of your pet.

It is not so common to find white tiles in the design of a living room. However, in some cases, such design solutions are fully justified. So, however, one cannot help but use a carpet. Indeed, in the winter, the floor will most likely be quite cold if you do not have a built-in heating system.

However, if we talk about the majority of the population, many prefer the option of floors that are at least a few shades darker than the walls. With this design, the room looks a little larger.

Many designers believe that light walls are just the perfect combination with a dark floor. But such options will really suit any interior style!
