Hi all! Even very high-quality furniture can easily be damaged by incorrectly selected fittings. Especially if these are lifting mechanisms for kitchen facades aimed at making life easier for users.
Competent selection is not only about giving preference to a proven and well-established manufacturer. It is important to think in advance about which fitting options would be best to buy, what type of structures to trust and why.
In fact, there are many interesting and potentially suitable options. I propose to study their features, design nuances and make a final decision. This is the only way the kitchen cabinet will open as conveniently as possible and serve for a long time in the kitchen.
Base cabinet supports
To install kitchen cabinets in the lower row and pillar cabinets, height-adjustable supports are used, this allows you to align the furniture strictly horizontally, regardless of the floor level. There is free space under the furniture where communications can be placed. Depending on what level the working surface should be at, supports of different heights are used, from 100 to 170 mm. Relative to the nominal height, the support can be adjusted by 10 mm plus (higher) or minus (lower). As a rule, this is enough to compensate for the curvature of the floor, if any.
Size range of supports for kitchen cabinets
The supports also serve to fix the base. The base panel is secured with quick-release latches.
The adjustable support kit includes fastening elements for various types of plinth panels
In the case where the space under the cabinets remains open, use supports with a more attractive appearance.
Chrome-plated adjustable legs without locks are suitable for kitchens without plinths
For wall-mounted dining tables, bar counters and kitchen islands that do not rest on the lower row cabinets, adjustable supports are also often used. They are distinguished by an improved design, a larger support area and a larger adjustment range, 2-4 cm in each direction.
Among the supports for table tops and bar counters, three heights are more common: 710 mm for a dining table, 820 mm for a work surface (low bar counter) 1100 mm for a high bar counter
Accessories for hinged wardrobes
Composition of accessories
There are many accessories for the most popular type of kitchen furniture.
1. Door handles.
Manufacturers of kitchen sets always offer a catalog with photographs of handles so that the buyer can choose the appropriate option for the kitchen interior. Handles come in three styles: classic, retro and modern (high-tech, modern, minimalism).
As for the types, door handles can be attached either to the surface of the furniture (overhead) or simply as cut-out recesses on the doors (mortise). Overhead handles are a widespread type and fit absolutely any interior. However, mortise ones are safer and are the best solution for a modern kitchen.
Also, accessories in the photo catalog can be divided by type.
- Staples. The most popular and easy to use.
- Buttons are round or oval shaped handles. Can be made of metal, plastic, ceramic or wood.
- Rails are most suitable for modern style.
- Ring. This look would be appropriate in a classic kitchen.
- The drop serves as a universal handle for all interior styles.
Advice. It is better to entrust the installation of additional accessories to a specialist.
2. Door hinges.
Such products for kitchen cabinets as hinges also have a classification.
- End bolts can be overhead or mortise. An economical option for any kitchen.
- European ones can be adjusted and such hinges are invisible.
- Corner ones are designed for corner sets.
3. Supports
A wide range of legs provides the buyer with the opportunity to choose shape, color and material.
4. Kitchen cabinet hangers allow you to attach your cabinetry to the wall.
Installation of hinged furniture fittings
Installation of swing set additions begins with screwing the hinges. First you need to mark the place for the hinges. Next, holes are made for the bolts using a drill.
Note! If the hinge is double-leaf, then parts of it should be attached to the frame and the door, and then the hinge should be connected. If the hinge is not removable, then the door must be attached to the frame and the elements must be screwed.
The hinge should be adjusted so that the door closes and opens well. After the above steps, you need to install the cabinets in their places, having previously made markings, then screw on the legs, hanging accessories and handles.
Important! The legs also need to be adjusted so that the door fits snugly against the frame.
Selection rules
Accessories for kitchen sets are presented in numerous types. During the selection process, it is recommended to consider some basic factors:
- high strength;
- attractiveness, matching the appearance of the headset itself;
- safety of use by adults and children;
- long service life;
- optimal cost.
It is advisable to initially focus on purchasing quality products, so their cost will not be too low. When using exclusively high-quality, convenient designs in the kitchen, efficiency and ease of use for its intended purpose are ensured.
Lifting and folding mechanisms with closers
Folding lifting mechanisms with closers
You always want a little more than what was expected. So that the facades in the kitchen slide silently and smoothly, without the slightest effort. Manufacturers willingly respond to demand - on the Russian market, folding mechanisms with built-in closers are represented by several leading brands that are well-known - Blum, Hettich, etc. The folding mechanism for mezzanine-type facades can be opened by pressing and activated by an electric drive.

Furniture ties ↑
To connect the external elements of the cabinet and stationary shelves, use a furniture euroscrew (euroscrew, confirmat, screw tie). It is good because it is quickly and easily installed, including at an angle. And it's inexpensive. The negative point is that the screw tie is not designed for repeated disassembly and assembly of furniture, which, however, for a home kitchen, as a rule, does not matter.
The confirmation tie is installed at the ends of the side walls of the cabinet
You cannot drill holes for Euroscrews with a regular drill; for this, only a special one is used, with an expanded diameter at the base, repeating the configuration of the confirmat.
To install Euro-ties, you will need a special drill and a screwdriver attachment or a hex key.
It is necessary to connect not only the cabinet elements, but also the cabinets themselves (modules, sections). Both lower and upper, combining them into a connected structure. This is done using intersection ties, which connect adjacent cabinets through holes drilled in the walls.
Intersectional coupler is a connecting screw of adjustable length; it can be used to fix elements (in our case, the side walls of modules) of different thicknesses
Characteristics of kitchen components
Its durability and practicality depend on the quality of kitchen components.
Furniture handles
Furniture handles are classified by material, type, shape, size, manufacturer . There are handles, brackets, rails, buttons and mortise ones. The brackets look discreet and are suitable for any interior, while the rails are suitable for modern design. Knob handles with decor will fit into a rustic-style interior - Provence or country. And mortise ones are chosen for kitchens in industrial or loft style.
Accessories are made from wood, plastic, and metal. Depending on the interior, it can be simple (metal or white, oval or square), as well as carved and decorated (multi-colored, shiny, curly handles). It must be durable and wear-resistant.
Loops
Furniture hinges affect the ease of opening doors. They are classified according to purpose, structure and method of fastening. There are overhead, inset, corner, and transforming hinges. It is recommended to purchase furniture with thick metal hinges. Closers are a type of furniture hinges. With their help, it is easy to open and close the door without noise or effort. Closers should be overhead, not built-in - then they guarantee the opening of the doors without extraneous sounds.
A special group includes hinges for fastening specific facades. They are purchased together with the profile; it is difficult to find such elements separately.
Kitchen guides
Retractable mechanisms (guides) are divided into roller and ball. Roller ones are inexpensive and can withstand loads of up to 25 kg, but with their help the cabinet does not open completely. To avoid any extraneous sounds when opening, choose rubberized rollers. With the help of ball-bearing drawers, the drawer extends completely; they can withstand up to 60 kg.
Based on roller and ball guides, the following were invented:
- metaboxes - boxes with a roller system and side walls with guides;
- tandemboxes are boxes based on ball systems with side walls made of glass or metal.
The slides must be able to support a lot of weight and allow the drawers to slide in and out smoothly. The stronger the material, the longer the fittings will last.
Legs
Furniture legs decorate the set and protect it from moisture and dampness. They also make it easy to rearrange - the material and shape of the supports reduce friction on the surface. They are made of plastic, wood or metal, depending on the cost and material of the kitchen. In shape they are square, round, rectangular.
Supports are divided into two groups:
- Adjustable legs hide uneven floors and visually correct the kitchen. Screw adjustable supports are popular: to adjust the height of the kitchen, open the bottom of the cabinet and tighten it with a screwdriver. The headset does not need to be tilted or turned over.
- A thrust bearing is an option for raising the kitchen above the floor level. Thrust bearings protect furniture from moisture penetration. They are ideal for kitchens with low ceilings - due to their low height, the thrust bearings are invisible.
Furniture elevators
Gas shock absorbers (furniture elevators) are piston mechanisms that are installed on facades with horizontal door opening. Shock absorbers prevent the doors from closing abruptly.
This is a convenient option in any kitchen; visually they are invisible . Gas lifts come in lifting and reverse action, they are used at any temperature, which is well suited for kitchen conditions.
Gas elevator design
It is a structure consisting of the following components made of plastic and metal:
- Sleeve.
- Elevator cone.
- External and internal cavities.
- Lifting rod.
- Landing, outer and inner cones.
- Button.
- Sealing element.
- Gas valve.
- Bearing.
- Gas bypass channel.
Combined pull-out hanger
To store items intended for everyday wear, we recommend installing a combined pull-out hanger in one of the compartments of the wardrobe. Thanks to the use of this device, you can save time when getting ready for work and maintain order inside the case. This mechanism is suitable for installation in standard models with a useful section depth of 500 mm. It can be mounted on either the right or left side vertical stand.
The combined pull-out hanger is a two-level design connected to two telescopic ball guides, which are additionally equipped with a soft closing mechanism. The upper tier of the retractable hanger is equipped with a plastic tray for small items and is connected to hangers for suits. This device takes up little space in the compartment, as its width is only 215 mm. Thanks to this compactness, the use of a retractable hanger does not reduce the overall capacity of the wardrobe compartment.
Attaching wall cabinets to the wall ↑
The upper cabinets of a modern kitchen are hung on a common mounting rail (bar) using special devices - hangers. The rail, the length of which is equal to the length of the entire upper row of cabinets, is secured securely and strictly horizontally.
The mounting rail common to all cabinets greatly simplifies their installation.
The mounting rail has special holes for the hooks that are available on the hinges. In the upper cabinets of modern kitchens, as a rule, hanging units are already installed. If not, installing them is easy, you just need to make a small hole in the back wall. The design of the hinge allows you to adjust the pressure of the cabinet against the wall, making it possible to raise or lower it by a few millimeters.
Hinge mechanism with decorative cover removed. The top screw adjusts the height of the cabinet, the bottom screw adjusts the depth (degree of pressure against the wall)
When using rails and hinges, it is advisable that in upper cabinets the back wall is inserted into the grooves with a slight recess, rather than secured over the body at the back.
Upper cabinets where the fiberboard back wall is slightly offset inwards (to the right) will be pressed closer to the wall
Retractable top-mounted hanger
Although top-mounted pull-out hangers are produced in two versions: for sliding wardrobes with a useful cabinet depth of 360 and 500 mm, we recommend using only the first model. In the second case, when the depth of the compartments is 500 mm, there is no need to install this device, since it is more rational to install a stationary oval bar for hangers in a compartment with such dimensions.
A retractable hanger is indispensable in narrow models, the depth of which does not allow hanging clothes in the traditional way. We equip custom-made sliding wardrobes with Italian Vibo mechanisms with reliable full or partial extension guides. In addition, these hangers have a convenient steel grip handle and demarcating balls on the clothes rail, thanks to which each item remains in its place.
Operating principle
The operation of closers is constructed as follows: a metal spring is attached to an iron mold filled with oil. When the door closes, it presses against the structure stop. The liquid inside moves to the back of the mold, which is held in place by seals.
It is possible to change the piston speed using a control unit, the task of which is to narrow or widen the outflow path. The higher the frequency of movement of the piston, the faster the door will close.
Even if the part is seriously damaged, the mechanism does not allow oil to leak out of the closers.
Most models help close the doors. But they produce devices that ensure smooth movement of doors in both directions.
Pull-out laundry baskets with one-sided fastening
To store small wardrobe items and linen, you can use multi-level pull-out mechanisms that are attached to one of the vertical side racks of the wardrobe. These mechanisms are completely identical to retractable shoe nets - both in size, number of levels, and operating principle. The only difference is that the frame of these devices is not equipped with inclined shelves with a side, but with mesh baskets with a depth of 64 millimeters. These devices are characterized by high load capacity and quiet, smooth running.
Furniture hinges ↑
Hinges on the fronts of cabinets that allow them to open to the side are the kitchen fittings that we deal with all the time. In the average family, kitchen doors open and close up to a hundred times per day. Hinges intended for kitchen furniture must have a high service life, open with minimal effort and silently. Of all the existing types of hinges for the kitchen, mortise four-hinged ones are best suited.
Four-hinge furniture hinges ↑
The vast majority of modern kitchens are equipped with four hinged furniture hinges. The presence of several hinges ensures that the hinge moves offset relative to the rotation axis. When opened, the door moves slightly forward and to the side, towards the center of the cabinet. Thanks to this, its edge does not touch the neighboring one, even if the distance between adjacent facades when closed is minimal - 3-4 mm. A flat spring in such a hinge ensures not only automatic closing of the door at a small opening angle, but also its tight clamping when closed.
What are fittings?
Kitchen fittings are small components of kitchen furniture that operate the equipment. It includes door handles, mechanisms for retractable drawers and cabinets, as well as for hanging structures. Accessories also include mesh systems such as dish drainers or baskets, cutlery storage systems. Basically, several types of products are used in the kitchen.
- Swing - the most common type.
- Retractable. These types of furniture are well suited for small kitchens.
- Elevators are often located under the ceiling.
Pull-out storage systems ↑
On the lower tier it is much more convenient to store kitchen utensils in drawers than in cabinets with shelves. There is no need to bend low, quick access to the entire depth of the cabinet is provided, things are arranged systematically, and there is actually room for more of them. The only drawback of retractable systems is their higher cost compared to conventional cabinets. In budget furniture we will not see a large number of drawers, but the lower level of an elite kitchen may consist entirely of pull-out elements. The horizontal movement of such storage systems is provided by guide mechanisms.
It is much more convenient to store and use kitchen utensils in drawers than on shelves
Guides for retractable systems
There are two types of mechanisms for drawers: roller and ball:
In roller guides, the counter movement of the runners is ensured by two polymer wheels - rollers. Due to the special shape of the guides, the drawer is pressed against the cabinet in the final stage of closing - an analogue of a closer. The roller guides do not extend the drawer all the way; you have to feel the contents at the far end with your hand. The rollers do not provide ideal smoothness, but they are cheap. This is a completely acceptable solution for budget furniture.
Inexpensive roller guides can be matched to drawers of almost any depth
Ball guides are completely devoid of the disadvantages of roller guides. They are a linear telescopic bearing: steel balls are located between moving guides in two rows. The robust steel telescopic structure is very durable and can withstand significant weight. Several dozen small diameter balls ensure smooth and silent movement. Ball guides, consisting of two telescopic elements, do not extend the drawer all the way, like roller guides. But three-piece slides allow the drawer to be pulled out completely from the cabinet.
The illustration above shows full extension ball guides designed for heavy loads. Bottom - guides for medium load, partial extension
In the basic version, the ball guides do not have closers, but you can purchase options with a mechanism that ensures smooth automatic closing of the drawer.
Ball guide with closer, automatic mechanism is activated when the drawer is pushed more than three quarters of the way in
Retractable system options
The most common retractable systems are ordinary drawers (cabinets) on roller or ball guides. They can have a body made of regular laminated chipboard or a metal frame.
Full extension drawer with a metal frame, which serves as one of the elements of a special ball guide
Instead of a box with solid walls, you can use mesh baskets, but the general design does not change - the guides are installed horizontally on both sides of the retractable system.
Pull-out drying rack for large dishes, located in the lower tier of cabinets
Retractable cutting boards and mini-tables are constructed using the same principle.
Large and convenient retractable cutting board when folded takes up almost no space
Another option for the layout of retractable systems is cargo baskets (bottle holders), where mesh baskets are installed in several levels and represent a single structure with the cabinet door. If the cargo is wide enough (from 30 cm), the guides are installed, as for drawers, on both sides of the lower basket. For narrow bottle holders, ball mechanisms are placed vertically on only one side of the baskets, one above the other.

Pull-out telescopic frames for wardrobes
To equip the interior space of the wardrobe, a useful device has been developed that provides a new higher level of furniture comfort - sliding telescopic frames with steel ball guides. The main advantage of these mechanisms is their independence from the width of the internal opening of the sections. The frames are designed in such a way that they can be expanded to the required width, due to which they are installed in any of the compartments having a clearance in the horizontal plane from 410 to 970 millimeters. Since the range of sizes is quite large, manufacturers produce frames for openings with different widths: • 410-550 mm; • 550-690 mm; • 690-830 mm; • 830-970 mm;
Frames are available for sections with a depth of 360 and 500 mm, which allows you to equip not only standard but narrow sliding wardrobes with these sliding mechanisms. In addition, these devices have another useful quality - they can be equipped with different types of baskets for storing things, making it easier to maintain order at each level in wide sections of the case.
Sliding frames are equipped with high-quality telescopic guides for partial or full extension, which are characterized by silent, smooth running and high reliability. Their frame is made of durable steel wire with a quadruple galvanic or powder metalized coating. The diameter of the wire is designed so that the frame can easily withstand the operating load. In addition to imparting rigidity to the structure of the retractable mechanism, horizontal wire jumpers are designed to fix various baskets, nets, trays and clothes hangers on them.
We use Italian Vibo sliding frames to fill sliding wardrobes. This fittings are not only reliable and convenient, but also look great inside the case, making it stylish and modern. By equipping the lower compartments with such sliding mechanisms, you can independently, using dividing elements, baskets, trays and hangers, shape the interior space of the wardrobe during its operation.
How to install correctly
It is not enough to choose good fittings; the method and order of installation is no less important. The packaging with the mechanism usually contains instructions. Popular brands also post a brochure for each model on the company website. If you bought a product from a Chinese manufacturer without a name and want to assemble the mechanism yourself, but there is no documentation available, we offer a universal guide to installing a gas lift.
To attach the door closer, follow these simple rules:
- Before installing the gas lift, draw markings according to the template on the door and cabinet body.
- Screw the loops into the marked places.
- The mechanism should be finally installed after the hinges have been securely fastened.
- Insert the ends of the closer into the special holes inside the hinges until you hear a characteristic click.
A detailed explanation of the process is presented in the video. After installation, check the operation of the mechanism. If the door does not close completely, adjust the tightness of the closer fastening with the screw.
For installation of other types, read the relevant instructions.
Swivel and tilt-and-slide systems
For corner cabinets, where access to the blind half is difficult, they came up with rotating mechanisms for storing utensils. “Carousels” are widely known, where mesh shelves in the form of sectors of a circle rotate around a central axis, corresponding to the configuration of the cabinet. Convenient, but not very rational, because the corners remain unused.
Rotating “carousel” - the radius shape of the shelves does not make it possible to use the corners of the cabinet
Swing-and-slide systems designed for corner furniture do not have this drawback. With this solution, there are two sections of two-level baskets: one, integrated with the door, moves along a complex trajectory, simultaneously sliding on runners and turning. The second section slides out from the blind part of the cabinet to the place of the first one that moved away, where access to it is provided.

Organizational elements for sliding frames
Since the Vibo company has created improved telescopic frames, then, naturally, Italian manufacturers took care of developing a series of organizational elements that allow you to shape the internal space of the departments in a way that is convenient for the furniture owner. To increase capacity and improve the performance characteristics of sliding wardrobes, customers and manufacturers have an impressive arsenal of components:
Hanging nets without edges
Removable lattice sections for linen and various wardrobe items have a height of 87 millimeters and a width of 305; 410; 490 and 730 mm.
Hanging shelf with edge
This organizational element is a lattice box with a height of 86 or 150 millimeters. The frame width of such baskets can be 305; 410; 490 and 730 mm. These lattice boxes are great for storing absolutely any items.
Lattice container for shoes
This element is equipped with two mesh shelves with sides for fixing and is available in two widths - 390 and 470 mm.
Plastic pallet
Container pallets made of translucent CAH plastic have a side height of 86 millimeters and vary in width: 240; 320; 400 and 480 mm. These elements are used to store jewelry, belts and other small accessories.
Metal removable drawers
These containers can replace traditional boxes and are considered more convenient than their original counterparts, as they provide the most convenient access to their contents. These containers have a depth of 86 or 148 mm and are suitable for installation in telescopic frames with an internal opening of 505 mm. The bottom of these elements is made of multilayer material with a wood-like surface.
Wooden divider
It is recommended to organize the internal space of metal containers using beech dividers. This organizational element has a variable number of cells (12 or 15) and is used to store belts, hairpins, cufflinks, cosmetics and other small items.
Laundry basket
It is recommended to place a retractable container for washed clothes under the built-in ironing board - this placement ensures quick and convenient ironing of things. This element is a wooden frame on which a cotton container bag is placed. The laundry basket can be placed on a frame with an internal clearance of 505x480 mm, while the height of the storage container is 430 millimeters.
Trouser holders
Trouser hangers are made of metal or natural wood. These organizational pieces have 7 to 9 runners for hanging pants. Such holders are installed in openings with a depth of 500 mm and a width of 455 or 719 mm.
Sliding plastic tray
It is recommended to install this element on frames on which trouser hangers are placed. The tray has two small bowls 40 mm high, where you can put all small items from your pockets. In addition to all the listed organizational elements for sliding telescopic frames, the Vibo company produces quilted fabric-foam rubber and smooth rubberized mats that help prevent small wardrobe items from falling out of mesh containers.
Types of door closers
- Cabinet-mounted – fixed to the furniture body. One of the most budget options.
- Self-tapping - screwed onto self-tapping screws.
- Loop - fastened in special loops or on Euroscrews. This installation is considered the most reliable, but it does not function in sliding structures.
If the fittings begin to creak, you need to tighten all the screws on the hinges.
The mechanism will truly and for a long time bring you comfort if it is made of high-quality material and receives proper care.
The principles of operation are:
- Oil-based - guarantee smooth, complete closing, often used in modern kitchen sets.
- Gas - stop sliding in the middle of closing. They are distinguished by their low price.
Lubricate the hinges periodically, clean all mechanisms from dirt with soft cloths and soap and water.
The above designs are acceptable for hinged kitchen cabinets; for roll-out ones, a system of guides with a special spring is installed. Such closers are also divided into oil and gas.
The system is designed so that even in the event of a major breakdown it will remain in place.
Closers for kitchen cabinets for the kitchen must be selected based on where they will be attached and what load they will be subjected to.
Cabinet-mounted – fixed to the furniture body. One of the most budget options.
Door handles ↑
Handles are front fittings, an active design element. We will not consider in this article different types of furniture handles, because while they are noticeably different visually, they are functionally identical.
The front fittings for the kitchen are extremely diverse; the photo shows only a tiny part of the offered range
However, it is necessary to mention alternative door opening systems that do not have handles:
- Integrated kitchen handles are a groove on the top or bottom of the door that you can grab like a handle. A special aluminum or polymer profile is installed on the door, or a groove is milled directly into the facade material.
The profile selected at the top of the door replaces the handle when opening
The solution is quite convenient, you just need to leave a place for a grip above the door. Furniture without handles fits perfectly with an interior designed in the spirit of fashionable minimalism.
There must be free hand space above or below the integrated handles.
- Push opening systems, which we have already mentioned, do not require handles. For such cases, we recommend choosing furniture with a matte surface on the doors. There are no fingerprints left on it, unlike glass and gloss.
Clear fingerprints will always be visible on the glass door that opens when pressed. For such a case, it is better to choose a matte facade
Pantographs
A pantograph or furniture lift for clothes is a convenient mechanism that is most often used in the manufacture of sliding wardrobes. This popularity is due to the affordable cost of the device, its versatility and ease of use. One of the main advantages of a pantograph is the ability to easily and simply remove things from the upper compartments of the case. Thanks to the appearance of this wardrobe element, the concept of approach to the formation of the internal space of wardrobes has completely changed.
Those areas that were previously reserved for inconvenient mezzanine compartments with shelves can now be used to store outerwear on hangers. To get the desired item stored on the pantograph bar, you just need to pull the handle towards you - the clothes will smoothly lower on the levers to a level convenient for you, and then the lifting mechanism will smoothly return the bar with the rest of the items to its original position.
In an article devoted to the formation of the internal space of a wardrobe, we paid a lot of attention to the method of “winter-summer” zoning, which involves the use of pantographs. If you want to increase the capacity of your wardrobe and make it more convenient and modern, you should listen to our recommendations and allocate space for installing one or two pantographs in the upper compartments of the case.
On average, these lifting devices can withstand a load of 10 to 15 kg, but this is not the limit. There are pantographs for storing large quantities of outerwear, designed to weigh up to 20 kg. Telescopic rods allow the installation of these lifts in compartments with a width of 450-1150 mm, that is, the dimensions of the pantographs are tied to the most common width of sliding facades. The length of the handle of these mechanisms, regardless of their horizontal dimensions, is 850-910 mm. The minimum permissible height of the compartments in which the pantograph is planned to be installed is on average 900-1000 mm.
All high-quality pantographs that Styver-100 uses in the production of custom-made sliding wardrobes are equipped with power hydraulic mechanisms that provide at least 20 thousand full operating cycles of the device - this is enough for at least 10 years of furniture operation. In addition to pantographs with standard equipment, elite SUPERLIFT models are produced, which have stepwise adjustment of the load capacity and allow you to adjust the angle of inclination. Thanks to this functionality, the operation of lifting mechanisms becomes even more convenient. It is also possible to install pantographs with an electric drive, allowing the rod to move up and down without applying any effort - the movement occurs due to the operation of the electric motor. True, the cost of such devices is several times higher than that of traditional models, and their installation requires changes to the housing design.
The design of pantographs allows you to choose a model that will be combined with the rest of the contents of the wardrobe body. The levers, rod and handle of this lifting mechanism are made of aluminum or steel, with a chrome coating applied to its surface. At the client's request, you can select models with black levers. Hydraulic boxes and pantograph fasteners are usually made of gray or black plastic. Clothes lifts can be fixed both on the side racks of the wardrobe and on its rear wall - there are special fastening plates for this installation method.
The Stayver-100 company equips sliding wardrobes with Hafele, Vibo and Ambos pantographs produced in Germany and Italy. These clothing storage lifts are designed to work reliably and are made from non-toxic materials. The hydraulics of these devices ensure smooth, silent movement of the levers, the absence of significant play during movement and are characterized by increased sensitivity, making Italian mobile gimbals easy to control.
The mechanism responsible for lifting the cabinet in a vertical plane
The mechanism for lifting the façade of a mezzanine cabinet in a vertical plane is a stylish solution, and perhaps the most expensive. Indeed, the prices for such fittings can scare a client in the “budget” category, and, despite all their advantages, they will not force him to buy it, since sometimes equipping a kitchen with similar details can cost as much as a couple of cabinets from a set for a medium-sized kitchen price segment.
Folding mezzanine cabinets, the doors of which move in a vertical plane, are a real boon for short people
That is why fitting solutions were invented that ensure the cabinet is lifted not in a horizontal, as usual, but in a vertical plane. Of course, in this position it will be much easier for you to reach the door, pull it towards you and close it without any problems.
The cost of this equipment is high and not everyone can afford it.
Folding trouser hanger with guides
The side-mounted pull-out trouser rack is suitable for storing men's and women's clothing. It can be installed in a compartment with a depth of side posts of 536 mm, both on the right and on the left. This mechanism, when assembled, protrudes 236 millimeters into the body, taking up relatively little space. The trouser frame has five tubular bars on which clothes can be hung. Like almost all other products in this series, the retractable clothes hanger is made of metal with a galvanic or powder protective and decorative coating and has plastic elements.
This hanger model is a compact mechanism that allows you to save space inside your wardrobe. When disassembled, the frame of this device is in a vertical position, located close to the side post of the section. At the same time, the trousers hung on the jumpers do not wrinkle, although they are located close to each other. When you need to get something out, just lift the frame with the jumpers and place a stop under it, which is movably attached to the frame of the hanger.
Prices for kitchen fittings ↑
The cost of furniture fittings directly depends on its type and quality. For example, a standard domestic or Chinese-made furniture hinge costs only $0.25, $0.5 per cabinet. More or less decent roller guides for a drawer - from $1.25 per set, ball guides - from $4 per set. The presence of door closers and other amenities will significantly increase the price. A simple lift mechanism for a swing lift starts at $30, and for folding doors starts at $70. You need to understand that cheap products are designed for lightweight doors, they are unlikely to work perfectly and will not last very long. Those wishing to purchase reliable, high-quality fittings from well-known manufacturers should be prepared to pay several times more.
We talked only about the main types of modern fittings for kitchen furniture. Much remains behind the scenes; interesting new items will definitely appear in the near future. For most readers, the available information is enough to start designing a kitchen and selecting equipment. Having decided in general terms on your wishes, it makes sense to contact a furniture manufacturer or a salon with specific questions, where a professional designer will help make your dreams come true.
Boot clips
Pull-out grids with inclined shelves are an excellent place to store shoes, but they can only accommodate shoes, sandals, sneakers and other low-rise models. But for storing boots, we recommend using other fairly simple and effective devices - boot clips, which will allow you to keep your shoes in perfect order and prevent the tops from losing their shape.
Externally, boot clips resemble large plastic clothespins. These devices are screwed to the side racks of the wardrobe and can be installed in any free area, thanks to which you can keep your shoes in perfect order and increase the capacity of the case. The Stiver-100 company prefers compact and durable shoe clips made in Sweden or Italy: Pelly and Ambos. These products are made of non-toxic gray plastic that does not contain chlorine compounds.
