MDF can be used to produce products that are quite complex in design. The material is more resistant to moisture and fire than chipboard, but it is also more expensive. • plastic cabinets are cheap, lightweight and easy to maintain, but it’s only a stretch to call these products reliable – a lot depends on the production technology and the responsibility of the manufacturer.
