Today I would like to tell you about the Lycksele Levos chair-bed from IKEA.

We have a very uncomfortable balcony in our apartment - it is narrow and long. Since we often have guests or various relatives stay overnight, we thought about setting up a sleeping place there. The balcony is insulated, the floors are heated, so it wouldn’t be a problem to spend the night there, even in winter. We needed a fairly narrow chair that would convert into a full-size bed, but at the same time during the day it could be pushed back so that it would not take up half of the balcony.

The first thing we did was go to the IKEA website and we immediately fell in love with the Lycksele Levos . 80 cm wide + mattress, which was exactly the width of our balcony. It cost 9999 rubles .

There is exactly the same chair, only for 11,999 rubles and 13,999 rubles. They differ only in mattresses. We were quite satisfied with this mattress; I don’t see any point in overpaying for an extra bed.

The set includes a bed frame, mattress and cover on top. We went to IKEA to look at the chair and ended up buying it with a gray cover. There were also covers in yellow, turquoise, white and black and white. If you wish, you can buy a cover of a different color and the chair will live a new life.

The mattress was rolled into a tube and packed in a bag. The cover and bed frame were in separate cardboard boxes. The boxes are quite light. I think that one person will be able to load them into the car.

Arriving home, I started assembling the chair myself. I did it in about 30 minutes. There is nothing complicated there. Instructions and materials are included.

An incorrectly assembled sofa simply won’t turn into a bed.

USING EXPERIENCE:

The metal frame is MEGA DURABLE.

The orthopedic base together with the mattress is pleasant for relaxing on the sofa.

We have been using BEDINGE as a bed for over 6 years. The mattress is not dented. The slats didn't break.

When converting the bed into a sofa, the mattress folds in half. It has two parts with a zipper.

In December 2022, I removed the rather dirty white covers from the mattress and washed them. And put it back on. The fabric didn’t shrink, but I had to work hard to squeeze the polyurethane foam into the cover and zip it up smoothly. But the mattress is like new again!

Like a sofa, BEDINGE has a slightly wider lower part to make sitting comfortable. When you fold, you won’t confuse this moment.

The back of the sofa can be adjusted, but very carefully. There were cases when the springs at the bottom did not work the first time (TWO CLICKS) and I raised and lowered them several times in the sofa position...

Pillows were purchased separately. They are moving with us for the third time))))

The sofa bed has legs. Convenient to clean the floor.

BUT! If you buy a box, it simply stands on the floor and is attached to the frame. A lot of dust accumulates in it...

Through the slatted base, through the space from the floor, since the box is not closed.

BUT! there is a drawer, there is extra storage space.

I wouldn’t recommend putting bed linen or anything you need for every day, or children’s things, for two reasons: it’s a bit difficult to fold and unpack every day; dust accumulates.

Most suitcases won't fit in the bottom storage drawer either. The box is low.

We had boxes of seasonal shoes there.

DISADVANTAGES (there are few):

I already named a couple earlier:

– this is still not a sofa bed for daily transformation. It’s hard for me, and the structure may not withstand hanging up and down. For us, 80% of the time it’s a bed, and when guests come, it’s a sofa.

– in our apartments where we lived the walls were painted. The metal frame leaves small marks when in contact with the wall.

PROS:

– an excellent option for a rented apartment,

– there are legs, you can easily move the sofa when assembled (just don’t forget to glue soft protection to the bottom of the legs so as not to scratch the floor),

– universal size (two people can sleep well, if desired, three can fit),

– slatted orthopedic bottom. It is springy, although this is not felt in ordinary life, but everything is calculated specifically to make it more comfortable to sit, lie,

– at first it’s unusual, then the only plus is the lack of armrests. Instead, use wide pillows that match the sofa. But without them, the bed can be turned to any side. Such a mini-permutation)))

– everything erases itself!

– an inexpensive option for a sofa bed,

– medium-hard mattress. If desired, you can change it to a classic, non-folding one, if you use it only as a bed,

– you should immediately purchase a water-repellent protective cover,

– several color options for covers.

Models from this collection are presented in techno style and feature a wide range of removable covers (5 colors), which helps you choose the optimal color scheme for your interior. When unfolded, the chair is suitable for an adult.
