Doll furniture and toy dishes for children

I decided to give a toy kitchen to my daughter for Christmas. Such a small Christmas miracle.

My husband considered this purchase the stupidest thing in the world, so he brought me to the store so that I could look at it again and give up my idea.

When I saw the soaring price tag and these small cabinets that looked like simple bedside tables, my heart skipped a beat, but I didn’t give up. In my dreams it seemed gigantic, but in the store it really looked kind of simple and even a little pitiful.

Price 7,499 rubles

The price is for the lower and upper parts.

All the years that I drooled over it, it cost 5,000 rubles.

I'm sure that I can buy a used IKEA children's kitchen. - it is a bad idea. But I honestly tried. Now I’m glad that something “didn’t work out” and I’ll explain why.

Many people buy her when the child is barely a year old, rape her for 7 years. Then they send her to the closet among the mice in anticipation of her “second” or grandchildren. Then they wipe off the layer of centuries-old dust and baby purees (but more often not) and sell them.

On Avito I saw simply miracles of pricing. People were selling me a toy that was clearly not the first freshness of 7 years (or even more) ago for the same price that they bought it. Plus delivery...

Assembly Assembly took us almost half the night. The holes, like all Ikea furniture, are perfect. Just enough to make it enough. Not a single unnecessary detail. And yet, after assembly, I was somewhat nibbled by my husband. The fact is that this small and simple kitchen is made to last. With great attention to detail and child safety.

This means assembling it is just as tedious as an adult one.

For many years, only one thing held me back from buying it - lack of space. Our kitchen is not the size of a football field or an ice skating rink.

Size

72x40x109 cm

As it turned out, we had one free corner left in which she fit like a glove. Now I have the feeling that it has always been part of our interior.

I wanted to give my daughter a kitchen with maximum pathos and all sorts of cute things. That's why I had a bunch of toy dishes prepared. But unfortunately, her heart-rending roar ruined all my plans.

Plate

Battery operated.

4 pieces required LR6 AA 1.5 V.

The new owner began to cry that she wanted a stove with a real fire. “Oh, how unhappy I am. I'm so small that I don't have a stove with a real fire! “- she howled.

The concert was accompanied by tears rolling into the plastic sink and lamentations that real cutlets could not be cooked in a fake kitchen.

I managed to calm him down with a promise to give him a stove with a real fire when he was 20, so that it would blaze as soon as you turned it on, like a column, and the height of the flame would reach my father’s eyebrows.

The stove glows, but does not heat up. Turns on and off with buttons. First there is a protective film on it.

We tested it with sand cutlets and immediately got scratched.

It is removable and can be replaced with another work by your handy dad.

Branded IKEA dishes are ideal for the stove, even though there are only 4 items. But there are only two burners, so it’s enough for cooking.

Tap

Spinning. There is no water there, but it can be easily navigated. The only question is, is it necessary?

The sink is removed. It needs to be washed often, so it is convenient.

One of my daughter’s favorite games is washing dishes. She unscrews the tap, soaks a washcloth in imaginary water and washes all her wealth.

And washing vegetables and fruits. Including real ones.

Design

Simple home design began to seem boring to me. I looked at bright pink, purple and red kitchens. But then I realized that the beauty is that you come up with the design yourself. It can be painted. If a child draws on it with felt-tip pens, you can sand it.

She came to life with us thanks to her owner. My daughter decorated it with stickers. About 50 packs have already been spent on decoration. The design changes all the time, but we both really like it.

Capacity

If you are planning to give your child a kitchen, don’t forget about the food!

What to do in the kitchen without food?

We have a lot of toy food. There is a wooden Le Toy Van and Mother Garden, there is a plastic Melissa Doug and even a rubber Ogonyok. Give preference to unbreakable ones. There is not enough space for games. That's why everything often falls down.

Despite the micro-size of the drawers, the IKEA children's kitchen is very spacious. We removed all the toy food sets there and freed up space in other rooms. And they take up about three Ikea boxes.

There is also a drawback - there is not enough work space.

I put the washcloth on the table - there was no place to cut food. I put the food down - there is no place to cook.

Therefore, the child also uses a table and chair for games.

All the same, without a kitchen, our games were not so naturalistic and exciting. And it was inconvenient for the child to play on the table pretending that it was a stove or on the floor.

There are hooks for various culinary items, but if you hang them all up, it turns out to be a mess.

All glass is plastic, but looks like real glass. Very realistic.

The kitchen consists of two parts. There is no point in buying just one thing.

The upper part consists of open narrow shelves and a microwave oven. You open the transparent door and see painted circles. You can put a plate there and heat up the chicken or bake a cake.

So far, this microwave is inferior to our stove. Still, it lacks lights, or sound, or some other imitation of work.

That’s why our Ikea kitchen has become firmly entwined with the magic stove. There is not enough space in the kitchen for a stove. Therefore, when it comes to the oven, the child simply puts it on the burner and bakes, simmers, explodes, etc.

We have one wooden box on the narrow shelves. Food items for cooking are stored there.

One contains meat, fish, sausages, the other contains vegetables, sweets, and buns. Just a little bit fits in.

The upper part is also a long shelf. There (when no one is cooking) there is a miracle stove. And also an endless amount of sauces, toppings, salt, pepper, Tabasco. We cannot live without this. After all, herring in cream and berries with Tabasco are always on the menu.

The lower part consists of two lockers. One of them is with transparent glass, the second is tightly closed. And that's great. In the second, mom can put all the mess and all sorts of mismatched utensils.

Each half is divided into two parts. This makes the cabinets spacious. Our chests fit there perfectly. Some wicker baskets would also be great. You can compactly throw various small things into them and they will not fall apart.

Pens

The handles are comfortable, like real ones. They are made of gray, high-quality plastic. It is convenient to open for children and adults.

Legs

The kitchen stands on four legs that are height adjustable. You can make it convenient for very little ones and for those who are older.

There is a wall mount. It must be used so that the kitchen with all its contents does not fall on the child.

Care

Once a week I wipe it with a damp cloth to remove dust. I wipe it dry. During particularly hot cooking sessions, she often gets covered in porridge. Last time the porridge was made of salt and stalactites grew in the kitchen.

And then the doll vomited right onto the tap, onto the table and into the sink. But everything was washed away.

Quality

In the photos from Avito, the Ductig Kitchen confused me with its black ends. It seemed to me that it was dirt and signs of long-term use. But it turned out that this was a drawing... bitches. In our new kitchen, all the ends were immediately brown and black.

And some of the boards even had wooden patches on them. However, everything is done in such a way that it does not catch the eye. The unfortunate patch disappeared when we assembled the microwave.

Does your child need an IKEA Ductig Kitchen?

My husband was sure that it would be in demand for two days. And he even chuckled in anticipation of the moment when this structure would be covered with cobwebs. But that did not happen.

Someday, my daughter will grow out of it, but it definitely won’t be soon.

At first, she couldn't believe that she had her own kitchen. I came running to look and make sure. I just didn't get out of there. Then it was time for a change. She dumped all her wealth on her, from toys to real cookware. It became uncomfortable to play. Then there was a lull.

Why is the hostess sad? Because she has nothing and nothing to cook with. I hung an apron nearby and interest flared up again.

By the way, among toy foods, ordinary products are in greatest demand. Fruits, eggs, sausages.

And on days of good behavior, either a new fish for culinary masterpieces or a wooden tomato appeared in the kitchen.

How to play?

  • You can just cook. Take an inventory, determine what products you have and draw a recipe for your child.
  • You can wash the dishes.
  • Feed the dolls. A bib and a plate will come in handy.
  • Play cafe and restaurant.
  • Eat it yourself.

My favorite game is feeding my parents until they have hiccups. Give them a pill for the stomach pain and feed them again.

I will not hide that buying a children's toy kitchen was my dream. I wasn't 100% sure that the child would like it. But I had hope. Now I am sure that IKEA Kitchen Ductig is my best purchase.

Toy safety

The IKEA kitchen is equipped with a special cable that is attached to the wall and to the kitchen itself, so that the furniture will not fall, break or harm the child under any circumstances. The doors are screwed onto special screws, and not simply inserted, so it will be impossible to remove them without a special tool. And even if the baby hangs on wooden doors, judging by the reviews, they will withstand his weight and will not break. There are no small parts, not even caps on the screws. The corners of each toy module are rounded, so it is impossible to get hurt on them.

In terms of size, the kitchen can be classified as children's furniture, and not as toys. The manufacturer has thought through every detail to the smallest detail. The design is simple, at the same time concise and practical. Already from the pictures in the catalog you can see that the drawers are spacious, the interior filling of the cabinets is functional, you can store not only dishes, but also toys. And if the design seems boring to you, you can do a creative remodel using decorative handles, multi-colored textiles, and spray paint as additional accessories.

It is noticeable in the photo that the main elements that the IKEA Duktig children's kitchen is equipped with are a sink and a stove (battery-powered). Each burner is equipped with a button. The faucet on the sink rotates like a real one, the mixer turns. The IKEA children's kitchen for girls is a wonderful gift for a little housewife, which will not only captivate the child, but also develop it.

The fittings of IKEA products are made of high-quality plastic; attached handles can support the weight of a child. The upper sections of the Ductig are attached with self-tapping screws, the holes are already made in each module, which is very convenient.

The main advantages of IKEA furniture:

  • high-quality, safe material;
  • reliable design;
  • convenient sizes – height 1 m;
  • legs adjustable in 3 positions;
  • the hob operates on batteries;
  • oven with door;
  • lockers above;
  • railing (convenient storage system).

The gaming environment develops regardless of gender, it doesn’t matter whether they are girls or boys. If you notice that your son is showing interest in cooking and kitchen utensils, you should definitely look through the catalog and buy a kitchen for your child. Parents will feel calmer when children stop carrying fragile dishes, heavy objects and unsafe tools from the kitchen, and will be busy with their own equally exciting children's games.
