Instructions for use

All tips for working with glue are indicated on the packaging. To obtain a high-quality adhesive joint, the base must first be prepared - cleaned of dirt, treated with fine-grain sandpaper. To remove grease stains and oil films, both surfaces to be bonded should be degreased. For this purpose, it is best to wipe them with alcohol or acetone, which will also help remove paint residues. You can also wash the products with household detergents.

Here are some tips for working with glue:

apply glue to one of the surfaces if they are homogeneous, and to both when dissimilar materials are glued together,
if the bases are porous, repeat the application of glue after a couple of minutes,
press the products against each other from the center to the edges to prevent air from accumulating, fix in any convenient way,
if possible, it is allowed to use a special roller for rolling parts,
stand for 10-20 minutes,
Before full use, leave the product for a day (to increase the strength of the adhesive seam).

You can make adjustments to the position of the parts only immediately after they are applied to each other. It is allowed to separate objects with immediate re-gluing. After 5-7 minutes it will be impossible to do this; you will have to remove the glue from the base and repeat all the manipulations. The manufacturer does not recommend gluing in rooms with high humidity. Despite the moisture resistance of the adhesive joint, at the time of connection it is necessary to exclude the action of liquid in one form or another.

Sometimes it happens that glue gets on clothes, other objects, or hands. You can remove already dried glue using acetone or gasoline. It is better to dry clean the fabric or try washing it with powder, detergents, or wipe with alcohol. The glue is removed from the tools with gasoline, in which they are soaked for 1-2 hours.

How to use correctly

Exact instructions for use are always written on the packaging.

For the strongest and most durable connection, all manufacturer’s recommendations should be followed.

Remove dirt from the surfaces to be bonded. Lightly roughen the surface using fine-grit sandpaper. You can get rid of grease stains with a degreaser or solvent. For the last task, acetone and pure alcohol can be used. Such substances will also help clean surfaces from old layers of paint and varnish. Additionally, household chemicals help get rid of excess traces.
Apply glue to the required surfaces. If the base is of the same material, then only one part needs to be coated with glue. Otherwise, Moment should be applied to both bases.
If the surfaces have a smooth structure and contain pores, then after a few minutes it is recommended to reapply the glue.
The parts must be pressed together. If the bases are flat, you can clamp them in a vice or roll them with a small roller if possible, so that every millimeter is involved in gluing.
Initial adhesion is achieved after 20 minutes. It takes a day for the seam to harden as much as possible and the part to be fully usable.

Correction of the position of the surfaces is possible immediately after gluing. After a few minutes the position cannot be changed. You will have to separate the bases, clean off the old layer of glue again and repeat all the steps again.

Although the glue is characterized by resistance to moisture, the manufacturing company does not recommend performing work in high humidity.

Precautionary measures

The glue is flammable, so the following safety precautions should be observed when working with it:

do not open the packaging near any sources of fire,
do not apply glue to products located near sources of elevated temperature,
Do not apply glue to heated surfaces.

All actions with “Moment” are carried out only in a ventilated room (hoods or through ventilation are used). When working for a long time, even with forced ventilation, you need to wear a respirator! You should work in special clothing and gloves. If glue gets on your hands or other exposed skin, you should immediately wash them with plenty of soap and water. If the product gets into the eyes or other mucous membranes, it is important to rinse them and immediately seek medical help.

Limitations and safety precautions

Take a small area on a plastic surface or a piece of plastic, drop a little Crystal and wait about half an hour. If there is no visible negative reaction (yellowing, deformation) of the base, glue can be used on the surface of the plastic. Otherwise, you need to choose a different glue for plastic.

Glue storage

The product should only be stored in its original packaging, tightly closed. The storage location should be located out of the reach of children, animals, sunlight and away from possible heating. It is desirable that the temperature is not lower than room temperature, but freezing the glue is also allowed (after defrosting it will retain its properties). Temperature standards for storage are from -20 to +30 degrees, period is up to 2 years.

It is forbidden to throw used Moment packaging into the fire! It is disposed of along with household waste. If all recommendations are followed, the glue does not pose a danger to human life or health.
