In order to make painted MDF facades at home, you need to prepare materials such as car or acrylic paint, primer, putty, sandpaper, solvent and laundry soap.

- Using masking tape, you should seal all decorative elements that do not need painting so that paint or primer does not get on them.
- Then you need to thoroughly wash the MDF surfaces with a soapy solution and wipe with a solvent to remove grease, soot and dirt.
- After this, you need to sand all the irregularities with sandpaper and determine the presence of cracks and depressions. If there are any, it is necessary to fill the surface with a special acrylic putty until completely leveled.
- Next, you need to saturate the facades with primer and let them dry. This process is recommended to save paint and provide better coverage. It is advisable to apply the primer in 2 layers. Each subsequent layer is applied only after the surface has completely dried.
- Cover the surface with the first coat of paint. If it is in aerosol form, you should direct the stream at a distance of 20 cm, and make sure that the paint applies evenly and does not form large drops. During work, it is recommended to wear a respirator or mask, as well as goggles to avoid exposure to harmful substances. When applying paint with a brush, you must ensure that the movements are in the same direction.
- After the paint has dried, it is recommended to sand the surface again with sandpaper. This is necessary for the next uniform coating and interaction of the layers with each other.
- The next step is to apply paint to the surface again. This process can be repeated an arbitrary number of times until the desired effect is achieved.
- At the request of the master, you can coat the surface with varnish. It must be remembered that after each staining, pauses should be made to allow the materials to dry completely.
