To make the furniture in your home comfortable, you need to choose the right content.

When assembling cabinet furniture, in addition to the main elements of the cabinet, various fittings are used, thanks to which the finished product will be reliable, functional and visually attractive. Let's find out what accessories are needed to assemble a wardrobe and how to choose these parts yourself.

Types of furniture fittings

The cabinet, drawers, shelves are assembled using fasteners, which differ in size, material of manufacture, installation method and features of use. They are divided into several types.

  • Front fittings for cabinets include parts that are located on the front facade of the product and, in addition to operational functions, serve as decorative elements.
  • Fasteners are used to assemble furniture panels into a single frame.
  • Additional products for the internal equipment of wardrobes are parts for installing shelves, rods in wardrobes, mounting mirrors, hangers.

Fasteners

The service life of furniture depends on the quality of fasteners. They ensure its stability, increase its ability to withstand heavy weight and help avoid distortions of the door leaves.

Furniture hinges are used to secure the door to the furniture body. Their task is to open the door at 900 and keep it suspended. For this purpose, four-hinged overhead and semi-overlay hinges are used. They are attached using self-tapping screws to the facade panel and drawer.

The cabinet door is located on the surface of the facade and is locked onto the end of the cabinet. Internal hinges allow the door to fit inside the cabinet body. A continuous facade surface without protruding edges is formed.

Corner hinges are used when installing doors with an opening angle of up to 1750. A piano hinge is used to fasten wide wardrobe doors. Made in the form of two hinged plates. It is installed over the entire height of the doors and secured with self-tapping screws.

For fastening the furniture body, confirmat, eccentric coupler, corners, and dowels are used. They are used for fastening parts of the body, back wall, partitions. Due to their design features, they are used for installation of wood, plywood, plastic, MDF, chipboard and fiberboard.

Sliding systems Aristo

The main advantage of the Aristo sliding door system is the high-strength profile made from primary aluminum by extrusion. The strength of the profile allows us to produce doors up to 5 meters high. The lower rollers can withstand loads of up to 80 kilograms and can carry a door with a total weight of 160 kilograms. Another feature of Aristo profiles is the wide range of colors provided by the technology of applying anti-oxidation coating to the profile. The profile is wrapped in a polymer film of the required color, which, thanks to etching technology, is firmly attached to it. The estimated service life of the Aristo sliding system is about 30 years, or up to 110,000 door openings and closings. The disadvantages include an insufficiently perfect mechanism for connecting profiles, which sometimes leads to their arbitrary separation, as well as the absence of a mechanism that prevents the lower roller from leaving the guide rail.

Additional accessories

To ensure maximum comfort and ease of use of cabinets, automatic closers are installed on the doors. These are components for cabinets with the help of which the door closes smoothly and silently. Installed on horizontally and vertically opening doors. Their use extends the service life of hinges and protects the surface of the facade from chipping and cracking.

Corners are used to install and secure shelves inside the cabinet. They are made of metal, aluminum or plastic.

Shelf holders are stamped from metal wire with a diameter of up to 1.5 cm with a characteristic protruding bridge in the center of the part. A type of rod holder is a blade-shaped holder. Fixing plastic and metal ones are made in the shape of a corner, with a thickening of the load-bearing part. The wide working surface of the product ensures reliable fixation under heavy loads.

For retractable shelves and cabinet drawers, two modifications of guides are used: roller and ball.

The cabinets are equipped with legs and thrust bearings, which are covered with a removable base. Also installed inside are rods for clothes, wire structures for small accessories, and hooks for bags.

Small nails, screws, self-tapping screws, screws with washers and sealant are used as small fasteners.

Frequently asked question: What kind of fittings do you use in wardrobes? They also often ask - Please count some high-quality fittings for me.

I will tell you what fittings we use to make sliding wardrobes.

1. Sliding door system. We work with, whose head office is located in Korolev, Moscow region. The most popular profile from this manufacturer at the moment is the narrow “Slim”.

Its peculiarity is that the sliding door with this profile looks more airy. The vertical handle is only 13mm wide, the lower horizontal bar is 12mm wide.

The doors roll on the lower rollers along the lower track, the upper ones serve only as guides so that the door does not pop out. This is an old bottom support system that has been proven for decades. It lasts for a very long time, up to 10 years or more, then it is advisable to change the rollers, which cost about 600 rubles from the manufacturer. all over the door.

The main enemies of the lower rollers are sand and hair. Because of the sand, the rollers grind down, and because of the hair, they stop and then drag along the rail, thereby wearing out unevenly. The profile itself is an aluminum alloy; practically nothing happens to it if you handle it only with your hands, don’t scratch it, don’t hang on the doors, don’t lean on them.

2. Pull-out drawer system. We use literally several brands: “, Bloom”. "Firmaks" is a Chinese factory fittings, distributed by the window fittings seller "TBM". "Pulse" is also a Chinese factory fittings, supplied by a large fittings seller - "MDM". "Blum" is already an Austrian company that, through dealers, sells all kinds of accessories on our Russian market.

Since a sliding wardrobe (or a hinged one) does not experience the same loads as a kitchen, we confidently recommend fittings made in China by Firmax.

Think and roughly count how many times do you open drawers in the closet and drawers in the kitchen? I think the answer is obvious, all family members use the kitchen and more than once a day. You can get into the closet 2-3 times a day, hardly more... Well, why are there expensive Blum fittings there? Of course, if you have extra money and a desire to live with increased comfort, then put “Blum”. Such drawers will operate more quietly, slide out and slide in more smoothly and, as a rule, they have a finishing system. Bloom's mechanisms will be hidden, invisible to the eye. We make the bottom of such boxes only from 16mm laminated chipboard.

Firmax has very cheap mechanisms that can be seen from the sides of the box, and there are slightly more expensive ones, in the manner of Blum, when the mechanism is invisible. They also have a finishing system, the bottom will also be made of laminated chipboard, but there are slight differences in operation compared to Blum and, most importantly, different service life.

If Firmax lasts 7-10 years, then Bloom will last 15-20 years. Naturally, I rely on my experience, there are exceptions and a lot depends on the intensity of the load. Well, here's an example case. In the bathroom there was a cabinet with Blum fittings, it stopped working after 4 years, the drawers were difficult to pull out and slide in. This is because the bathroom was very hot from the heated towel rail and the lubricant simply dried out. The guides were not lubricated in time and they frayed inside so much that even lubrication later did not help. Everything was shaking and grinding.

3. Hinges for swing doors. We usually install hinges on swing doors. “Boyard” is also a Chinese factory fittings, sold by Russian ones. These hinges are of poor quality, they are made of thin metal, and often click and crunch when used from the very beginning. We tried hinges from other brands that were a little more expensive, they were no better, they also loosened, crunched, and crackled. Here, if possible, it’s better to immediately put “Bloom”. Today, the difference in hinges is approximately the following: the Chinese “Boyard” is 60 rubles, and the Austrian “Blum” is 350 rubles.

Here is an example from life from my colleague and friend Gregory. He replaces a couple of Boyard hinges on the bottom door in the kitchen every year. This is the door where the trash can is located. Remember how often you open this door in your kitchen? Probably almost 100 times a day. Chinese hinges stop working after just a year. Well, the second example is with Bloom. My father-in-law has a kitchen with Blum fittings, it is 7 years old, and only after 7 years did I need to adjust the hinges on the door where the trash can is located. The adjustment is gone, this happens.

By the way, advice on loops. I recommend taking these hinges that are already worn out, well, you understand that they are not working so well, but they still work. Swap them with other loops that barely worked. Thus, you will extend the service life of the hinges.

Well, about “Blum”. These are high-quality Austrian fittings that last for 10 years or more. If you have extra money, buy Bloom. Yes, there are still a bunch of different ones, “Grass”, etc., but I can’t say anything about them, because I rarely worked with them and have zero experience. Bloom's dealer is located in Mytishchi and they are very friendly, unlike Hettik's dealers, who sometimes themselves do not understand what they are selling. It was a sad experience...

4. Pantographs. Sometimes you need to put a pantograph in your closet, it’s like a clothes lift. We deal with them differently and discuss them with the client. There are nameless Chinese ones, many people sell them, they cost from 4000 rubles. and higher. And there are various Turkish, Italian and German pantographs, they already start at 8 thousand. Service life is approximately proportional to price.

Inside the pantograph there is a piston under pressure, I don’t know if it’s gas or oil (I didn’t take it apart, but it’s not written in the instructions), but it’s something under pressure. And sooner or later this piston will have to weaken, like a shock absorber on a car, which we sometimes have to change.

A Chinese pantograph works for 3 years, and then, depending on your luck, maybe 7 years or even more work... All manufacturers act cunningly, they give a 1-year guarantee, you understand... We give a guarantee for the entire cabinet for up to 5 years, so sometimes it was necessary change the accessories under warranty, from here I draw conclusions.

For example, the sliding door closers are all of poor quality. We tried installing from different manufacturers, not only, they all break down after 3-5 years, they don’t last long. We are tired of having to go and replace them under warranty, so we no longer provide a warranty on them and are discouraging them from installing them.

5. Additional accessories. Very rarely do we install retractable nets, trouser ties or tie ties. This is usually Turkish. It’s just that we have a dealer in Mytishchi and the accessories are quite good at a reasonable price.

We use 1mm thick chrome pipe as rods.

We use different furniture handles for drawers and doors from different manufacturers, often even using Ikea handles. Therefore, there are no special preferences.

Let's sum it up. We mainly offer Chinese factory fittings because they are cheaper. It doesn't work as well as the Blum, it crackles in places and taps in others, but it will last 7-10 years, that's for sure. If you have extra money, then take the Austrian “Blum”, it will last 15 years or more. There is something in between “, in my opinion, missing.

Good luck.

Accessories for wardrobes

Thanks to its spaciousness, convenience and ability to fit into any interior, the sliding wardrobe has taken a leading place in the furniture industry. It is structurally different from conventional wardrobes and its assembly requires special fittings.

Rollers, asymmetrical or symmetrical, move the door without any effort. Made from plastic, steel with rubber or Teflon coating. The wardrobe roller located below takes on the weight of the door.

The fittings for a sliding wardrobe include upper hinged and lower support panels. Profiles are produced from plastic, aluminum and metal alloy. To fix the door in a vertical position, door guides are mounted on the upper profile - runners in which the rollers move.

To ensure silent sliding of the rollers along the profile, a seal is used, which is made from materials that can dampen noise and ensure smooth, smooth sliding.

Silicone and universal seals are reliable, durable and environmentally friendly materials. To protect the interior of the cabinet from dust, a brush seal is used.

The profile serves as the basis for the door leaf; a wood board is mounted on it. The type of profile determines the material from which it is made - steel or aluminum.

The stopper blocks the door and fixes it in a certain position. It is made of durable steel and mounted on the lower guide profile.

All components of furniture fittings are made from high-quality, durable materials. They ensure the service life of the structure, its durability and reliability. Thanks to small fasteners, the product gains stability, strength, fits into the interior and pleases the owners.

STOP

It is a small metal bracket that is installed in the lower guides and secures the door leaf in a given position. In budget furniture, stoppers, as a rule, are not used, but when installing a sliding wardrobe yourself, you should not refuse such a device. Moreover, the bracket is not at all expensive, and during the operation of the furniture you don’t have to worry that the doors will close spontaneously. Stoppers are especially relevant for cabinets with three or more doors.
