A variety of customer design wishes can be fulfilled by one drawer system – the TANDEMBOX system.
The systems – TANDEMBOX intivo and TANDEMBOX plus – provide many options for furniture design. Each of the systems allows the use of various designs: from standard to special (like a drawer for a sink, etc.). TANDEMBOX plus is a box that allows you to diversify your interior. It impresses with its wide range of options, including the use of round railings or solid sidewalls.
The TANDEM guide system and the various opening systems TANDEMBOX intivo and TANDEMBOX plus can be used simultaneously in one project.
The mobility of the TANDEMBOX intivo system makes it possible to use inserts made of almost any material: artificial leather and glass or an extension made of BOXCAP drawer material.

Comfort in the kitchen largely depends on the fittings, which ensure smooth use. My name is Yuryev Yuri, and today’s issue is dedicated to the Austrian fittings Blum.
Tandem
Let's start with tandem guides, the main feature of which is that the box itself is made of frame material. This could be chipboard, plywood or MDF. The guides themselves are attached from below. This mechanism provides guides both with and without closers. The guides can also be of partial movement, as in this example, while the visible area is reduced by 10 cm, and the drawers are of full movement.
With this method of opening, we get full access to the contents of the box. Due to the fact that there is a mechanism without a closer, it is possible to install the tip-on opening type, which opens by pressing and closes in the same way. The load that these guides can withstand was divided into 30 and 50 kg, keep in mind that the body of the drawer also has its own weight, so take this into account when loading these guides, the undeniable advantage of these guides is that the inside of the drawer can be made absolutely in any color and any height of the side posts, thereby maximizing the usable space inside the drawer, please note that due to the design features of attaching the guides to the bottom, the usable space of the drawer loses 43 mm in height. This type of guide also has an opening type - Servo Drive.
I recommend making the maximum width of the drawer on tandem guides no more than 90 cm; with such a width it is necessary to install a synchronizer.
Tandem guides can be either with clamps or with locks; I recommend installing locks because it is very convenient when something falls outside the box, it can be easily removed and stored inside the module.
Movento
Movento guides are almost no different in appearance from tandem, but they have slightly higher load ratings, namely 40 and 60 kg. There are no mechanisms without a closer in the Movento line. Also, the Movento guides have the ability to install a tipon blue motion mechanism, which opens by pressing, and thanks to The blue motion mechanism ensures smooth closing.
Increased load indicators make it possible to make boxes up to 1 m 40 cm wide; however, for stable operation of this mechanism, it is necessary to install a synchronizer.
Also, one of Blum’s new products, which was presented this year, is a latch for a sliding board; when fully extended, it secures the shelf, and in order to close it, you need to unclip the latch.
Cargo systems.
There are 4 types of guides:
Full extension tandem, tandem box plus, tandem box antaro and legrabox.
The minimum width of such cargo can be 20 cm, this is due to the fact that with a smaller size, the internal contents of the box will be useless.
The cargo mechanism itself consists of only one guide system, due to the fact that one guide is attached at the top and the second diagonally at the bottom, stable operation of this mechanism is ensured.
Cargo on tandem guides is made of cabinet material and can be in any color, the disadvantage of this mechanism is that with a front width of 20 cm, the usable space of the box is only 11.5 cm, the height can be adjusted according to your wishes, but the higher the side stand, the more cumbersome it will be look like cargo.
The tandem side plus and antaro guides differ from each other only in the upper part of the side drawers; in the antaro it is rectangular, in the tandem box plus it is twisted. The downside of these guides is the internal rounded wall which reduces the usable space by almost 10 cm.
The most cost-effective is the cargo on Legrabox guides - due to its fairly thin walls of only 10 mm with a facade width of 20 cm, the usable space inside the cargo is more than 13 cm
Legrabox
Legrabox guides are Blum's top solution.
The sidewalls of this guide system are available in 4 colors: white, black, gray and stainless steel. The elegance of these guides is ensured by thin walls with a thickness of only 10 mm. The height of the side walls can vary from 66 to 241 millimeters. Legrabox guides are divided into two types, pure and free, the difference is that in legrabox pure guides the side stand is monolithic, and in the vri line there is the possibility of inserting from any material up to 10 mm thick; glass is most often installed, but this is not possible be limited.
I will make a separate video about dividing systems for legraboks, in which I will show how to properly plan the internal space inside the drawer.
The maximum load of the legrabox guides can reach up to 70 kg, which allows you to use these retractable mechanisms as comfortably as possible.
Also, one of the advantages of legraboxes is the ability to attach thin facades.
Antaro new new color
Antaro tandembox guides are available in 5 colors: white, black, metallic gray, Orion gray, and on request there are items in stainless steel.
This is the most versatile type of guides that can be used in almost any part of the kitchen, from the smallest drawers to corner solutions in the kitchen space.
Externally, the Antoro guides look like a regular tandem box, with the exception of the right angle at the end of the drawer; the internal layout of the drawers is used from the orgaline system, thanks to which you can competently plan the space of any drawer.
According to the load, antaros are divided into two types: 30 and 65 kg. This type of guide can only be equipped with a closer, even when using push-pull opening.
The height of the side of the guides varies from 68 to 115 mm; for higher racks, special straps are additionally used that allow you to adjust the height you need.
For the internal drawers of the Antaro, a leash handle is provided, which can be either with or without a fastening mechanism.
Space Corner
If you have a corner kitchen, then this is the ideal solution. The space corner system will make the corner of any kitchen as useful as possible.
This sample shows the Space Corner mechanism on Antaro guides, with a built-in syncromotion mechanism - which allows you to further extend the façade and close it with Plano.
Metabox
The most budget option for guides from Blum is the metabox; the maximum load on such guides should not exceed 25 kg, so I would not recommend using these mechanisms for large loads.
Metaboxes come with or without a closer. They work quite loudly, and not as smoothly as other mechanisms. The height of the side drawers varies from 54 to 150 mm
This mechanism is only available in white.
It is best used in drawers that you will rarely use.
Space Tower
The kitchen storage area is the main strategic point of the kitchen triangle. That's why the Bloom company has created such a wonderful solution as the Space Taver.
it consists of five drawers, 4 legraboxes free with a collet height of 177 mm and one legrabox pure with a collet height of 90 mm, the kit also includes hinges that open 155 degrees, which allows you to freely use the drawers. This storage system is divided into a cabinet 60 cm wide and 2 m high.
But by purchasing a few more legrabox drawers, you can increase it to any size.
Space Step
Another new product from Blum is the Space Step mechanism. This mechanism not only creates useful space in the base, but also provides easy access to the upper cabinets.
The minimum height of the base for mounting this mechanism should be at least 15 cm, but I recommend 20-25.
