MDF coated with glossy acrylic plastic (ACRYLINE)

Acryline is MDF with a surface lined with acrylic plastic with a high gloss content. A relatively new solution in furniture production, it adds originality and improves product quality. Plastic with a thickness of 1.0 mm is used as a coating. A distinctive feature of the material is the endless possibilities in creating unique kitchen modules and realizing all the customer’s wishes thanks to a high degree of reflection and a large selection of shades.

Advantages:

  • increased strength;
  • not prone to retaining or spreading odors;
  • resistant to direct sunlight;
  • retain beneficial qualities even at high humidity (up to 80%);
  • easy to clean.

Flaws:

  • the surface is sensitive to fingerprints and greasy splashes, which necessitates daily washing, but not with detergents with abrasive properties (their use is strictly prohibited);
  • the price is quite high, as is the case with painted facades.

How to lay out a pattern of acrylic panels on facades

The main secret of an effective design is the strict coincidence of the pattern, flowing from facade to facade.

Any failure in texture causes visual dissonance. However, sometimes this is perceived as an interesting design technique. Allowing a high gloss look that is not "flat".

Acrylic design panels are not cheap. Therefore, it is better to do the layout of the facades at the design stage. Simply calculating the quadrature will not help - it is important to ensure that the pattern matches and the facades cannot always be arranged compactly on the sheet. Most often, you have to purchase a second and even a third sheet (although when calculating the consumption in sq.m. it seems that you can get by with just one).

However, the leftovers can be used to decorate shelves and countertops.

If price is of fundamental importance, printed acrylic facades can be “diluted” with plain or glazed modules. Such solutions look no less stylish and attractive.

Veneered MDF facades

Such facades are covered with veneer - thin sheets of wood with an original pattern that imitates natural materials. This type of coating requires subsequent opening with several layers of varnish.

The surface of this material gives the impression that the furniture is really made of natural wood, but the cost of such sets is much cheaper. The veneering process is quite complex, as it requires the selection of veneer sheets into sets (shirts) according to texture and color similarity to obtain a specific pattern.

Advantages:

  • maximum resemblance to natural wood;
  • more reasonable cost compared to solid wood facades;
  • Direct exposure to sunlight is not a problem.

Flaws:

  • requires special care;
  • If there is high humidity in the room, it is better not to use them;
  • Temperature changes are detrimental for them - the veneer can peel off.

Storage

Horizontal storage/stacking

  • Stacking must be done on a stable and level surface
  • Beams must be of proportionate thickness and length match the width of the slab stacks
  • The distance between the beams depends on the thickness of the slab.
  • Thickness of the slabs? 15mm: The distance should not exceed 800mm. In any case, when stacking half-formats with a length of 2800 mm, it is recommended to use a minimum of 4 beams.
  • Thickness of the slabs? 15mm: The distance should be less than 800mm. Typically, the distance is calculated as follows: "distance = 50 * slab thickness (mm)".
  • Protective plates must be used to protect the surface of the slab.

(Fig. 1)

  • If stacks of slabs are subsequently to be tied with steel or plastic tape, sufficient protection of the edges of the slabs must be ensured. To achieve this goal, special cardboard or the use of protective boards are suitable.
  • When storing a maximum of 4 stacks located one above the other, the beams must be placed in such a way that they are located one below the other strictly in a vertical line (Figure: 2)
  • Avoid protruding slabs of the same format in stacks (Figure: 2)

(Fig.2)

Vertical, rectangular storage

  • Vertical storage should only be carried out with a small number of boards with the PerfectSense structure. In any case, horizontal storage must be carried out in a vertical direction
  • When storing vertically, the greatest attention must be paid to securely fixing the boards with the PerfectSense structure
  • Sufficient support can be achieved using closed storage racks, bins or shelves
  • In this case, storage cells should not exceed a width of 500 mm
  • If open storage shelving is used, the contact surface must have a minimum slope of approx. 10° (Figure: 3)
  • In addition, only boards with the PerfectSense structure of the same format must be stored on open warehouse racks.

The collection is distinguished by the highest quality and excellent physical and mechanical characteristics and is highly resistant to:

  • discoloration and abrasion;
  • exposure to high temperatures and moisture;
  • exposure to aggressive household chemicals and alcohol-containing substances.

Environmental safety and the absence of carcinogenic elements make it possible to use the collection to create furniture for children's rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living rooms. An important feature of high-gloss slabs is the absence of shades and “variations” in color from batch to batch, which makes it possible to additionally order furniture elements. The glossy surface is easy to care for; just wipe it with a dry soft cloth. In case of heavy contamination, use products intended for furniture care. Examples of high gloss MDF products

Handling and transportation

  • The negative influence of moisture should be prevented even during transportation (for example, to avoid direct atmospheric exposure, it is necessary to use a protective film or transport in a truck with a closed awning)
  • During transportation, the load must be secured to prevent it from moving and tipping over using appropriate securing devices (tension straps, strapping tapes, etc.)
  • To prevent the load from shifting, it is necessary to use anti-slip pads.
  • When transporting by hand, large slabs must be placed on edge to prevent severe deflection. The use of slab supports is recommended. In addition, it is mandatory to use protective gloves and safety shoes to prevent injuries.
  • You should avoid moving the slabs by dragging, or only using special textile bedding.

When lifting the slabs, you should avoid rubbing them against each other with the sides on which the decor is applied.
