Using textured coatings on walls and ceilings is not the right solution. The best option is wallpaper without relief or decorative plaster. For flooring, you can use laminate, parquet, linoleum or thin, smooth, lint-free carpet. Ceilings are painted with water-based paint. If the height of the room allows, you can use a tension structure for finishing.

What accessories should I use?
There should not be many accessories in a small bedroom. So that they do not interfere with walking, choose wall decor: paintings, maps, photographs, panels, clocks.
Living plants are in fashion, which at the same time make the interior of the room more interesting and help maintain the microclimate.
Which layout is best?
The design of a small bedroom of 6 sq. m begins with the arrangement of furniture. In a small area you can’t really roam around; with a standard layout, nothing else will fit in the room except a bed with bedside tables. But if you use your imagination, there will be other solutions.
By replacing cabinets with columns you will get an effective solution to the storage problem. If there is not enough space in the pencil cases, hang wall cabinets between them. The only disadvantage of such functional furniture is that there is nowhere to put a book or phone before bed.
But the problem can be solved simply: make a small shelf on the wall above the headboard.
What to consider in decor and lighting?
The presence of decorative elements in the setting is a controversial issue. On the one hand, there is not enough space, and on the other, without them, the bedroom will look empty and uninhabited. To avoid this, use decor to a minimum and, preferably, it should be useful.
Let's start with textiles: curtains are an essential attribute of any bedroom. Blackouts made of non-translucent material provide complete darkness even during the day, allowing you to sleep longer on the weekend morning.
Now decorate the bed: pillows, blankets. A few small thoughts can completely change the perception of a room. Another plus is that decorative pillowcases can be changed at least every season.
Pictures are hung on the walls (maintain proportionality: instead of 1 huge one, 2-4 small ones), carpets (yes, they are back in fashion!), decorative wreaths (popular not only for the New Year).
Avoid three-dimensional figures, such as deer antlers - they create unnecessary shadows and look bulky.

The last important nuance is lighting. Think in advance where exactly the light sources will be located: having one ceiling chandelier in the bedroom is inconvenient; it must be supplemented with lamps on the bedside tables. And if you managed to allocate space for a cabinet or table, there should also be sources near them.
Do you need a chest of drawers?
A chest of drawers is an ideal way to store all sorts of small items: T-shirts, tights and underwear.
Do you have a separate dressing room? Wonderful!
But if you can’t get into it directly from the bedroom, it’s better to put a chest of drawers: you won’t have to walk across the apartment every morning to get your underwear?
What curtains will fit into the design of a small bedroom?
Simple cut, without heavy decorative details.
Designers love to use light translucent fabrics in the interior of small bedrooms. But the main function of curtains is protective and we recommend using curtains for the bedroom of at least medium density.
The second most popular solution, after floor-length curtains, are Roman blinds.
Are there alternative storage systems for small bedrooms?
The closet can always be replaced with other ways of storing things: hanging shelves or cabinets, open hangers, niches, built-in boxes in the bed or special podiums.

To create a bedroom interior in the chosen style, a small room is quite suitable. If you meet the requirements of a specific style, you can create a delightful design for your future bedroom.
The design style makes the interior complete and unified. It should be borne in mind that not every style is suitable for a small room. It will not be possible to use styles such as art deco, loft, modern or baroque.
Classic, ethnic, ecological and Japanese styles, as well as minimalism and Provence, are best suited. Compact and neat furniture, neutral colors and a competent selection of decor are best suited for bedrooms with a small square footage.
Modern style trends are characterized by furniture with strict shapes and neutral tones. All surfaces of the room are decorated in the same color scheme. Bright fittings, mirrors and metal parts easily compensate for the lack of decorative elements.
The use of plants, flowers, ceramic elements and wall lighting is recommended.
Classic style is relevant at any time. Graceful lines and tones, nobility in details - these are the characteristic features of the style. Bed tones of pink, beige, sand and light green visually increase volume. This is especially true for small bedrooms.
Provence, or provincial French style, personifies grace and impeccable taste. A delicate range of colors is used, mainly cream, white, soft blue and yellow. Refined, simple furniture is selected, as well as textiles in light colors, with a plant theme.
Scandinavian style is characterized by cool colors, with tones imitating snow cover. The furniture used is no frills, quite ascetic and compact. The Scandinavian style is characterized by the use of shelving and furniture with combined functions, which is ideal for small rooms.
What kind of wardrobe should I put in a small bedroom?
The best closet for a small bedroom is a separate walk-in closet.
But this is not always possible.
Use a narrow but tall cabinet so that it does not interfere with your movement around the room and remains spacious.
A practical solution would be a double wardrobe at the head of the bed, when the headboard is located in a niche.
Many people like sliding wardrobes because they do not require additional space to open them.
