#This is interesting

Several kingdoms in Africa had and still have traditions of using stools as thrones. One of the most famous of these, the Golden Stool of Asantihan in Ghana, was the cause of one of the most famous events in the history of colonized Africa, the War of the Golden Stool between the British and the Ashanti in 1900. The Ashanti tribes were dissatisfied with the situation that had developed after the last conflict with the actual seizure of the country, but the catalyst for the uprising was the attempt by the English governor Lord Hodgson to seize the Golden Throne of Ashanti, which is a local symbol of power and independence. The British never captured the Golden Throne. It was hidden deep in the jungle during the war and, despite the best efforts of the colonial administration, was not discovered until 1920.

High stools

One interesting option is stools, the height of which can be adjusted if necessary. They are functional and help save space in small kitchens.

They can be used for both a bar counter and a standard height table. Moving these stools is easy due to their low weight.

The design features of these products are designed for heavy loads. Therefore, high stools are not inferior in strength and durability to their standard counterparts.

Advantages of stools in the kitchen

In a kitchen space that must be intelligently arranged and thought out in terms of subsequent comfort, stools have undeniable advantages. First of all, they are small, light and comfortable. You can move them to the other side of the room without much effort, and that's really important.

By contrast, you can imagine having to move a massive chair with a backrest into a narrow kitchen just to stand on it and reach something from the top shelf.

The stool, however, is light and small, so positioning it will take just a few seconds. On the other hand, no one said that kitchen stools cannot be comfortable. Plus, they come in a wide variety of shapes and colors.

Advantages of stools

The main advantage of stools is their small size. The height of the classic stool, which does not have a back or armrests, is 45 cm. The piece of furniture can be easily pushed under the table or stored in the pantry if necessary.

Light weight and modest dimensions make the stool a very functional piece of home furnishings. This is especially true for small kitchens.

Of particular interest to owners of small apartments are folding stools for the kitchen. When folded, the kitchen furniture item takes up very little space.

Another advantage of modern stools is their cost, which is significantly lower than the price of classic chairs.

The use of modern materials makes stools a practical, inexpensive and functional piece of home furnishings.

Wooden or upholstered stool

Kitchen stools with soft seats have a unique charm and are more comfortable to sit on. It’s worth thinking about what exactly this piece of furniture will be used for.

If you need them to sit at your desk every day, but not to use them as a multi-functional piece of furniture, upholstery is a great solution. However, if the stool is mainly to be a more practical accessory, then a simple wooden option will be much better.

If you choose kitchen stools with fabric upholstery, you need to take into account that they will be more difficult to keep clean than in the case of wooden or plastic stools.

Low stools

In addition to the usual models, the modern furniture market offers consumers low-height stools. Such pieces of furniture are designed for buyers with children who need such furniture.

In addition, low stools are sometimes purchased for the hallway or for the dacha. Compact models are made of wood or MDF and are lightweight.

Low plastic stools are available for bathrooms.

Natural beauty

The Italian company Riva 1920 proposed to reuse briccoli - wooden piles from the Venetian lagoon. Sea-eaten briccols are strong enough to be used for making furniture and art objects. In addition, numerous irregularities and cracks make the material even more picturesque:

Elite To Be Hugу surprises and attracts attention. The stool is equipped with a sophisticated accessory in an industrial style - a handle made of colored rope, which not only ensures free movement of the stool, but also ironically contrasts with the naturalness of the product itself, giving a bright personality to a simple “piece of wood”:

Stools with soft seats

Such products may have a wooden or metal base. The soft part is usually covered with textile material or an artificial leather analogue. They are very convenient to use. If necessary, the seat upholstery can be easily replaced with a new one.

Kitchen stool or chair?

It's difficult to make a clear judgment about which of the two options is actually the smarter one. If you choose something that you can only sit on at the table, a chair may be a more comfortable solution, but certainly less functional.

Kitchen stools look especially good in the center of the kitchen - among countertops, pots and cookware, where space is limited. There, with the help of a light and comfortable stool, we can sit down to peel potatoes, place a pot of soup on the stool that needs to be removed from the stove, or use the stool when we need to get spices from the highest kitchen shelf.

Bar stools

Hockers, or bar stools, are often chosen for kitchens with an island or breakfast bar. Hockers are available both in assortment among IKEA stools and in many other furniture stores.

What does a modern kitchen stool look like?

Kitchen stools sold today rarely resemble the plank furniture that my grandmother had in the village. You can verify this by looking at photos of old kitchen stools on the Internet.

Stools are made from almost any material you can think of. For example, wicker kitchen stools. Wickerwork in pleasant colors combines the warmth of home with art, which today is embodied in such a small, practical piece of kitchen furniture.

Stools with a metal base look stunning in a modern kitchen setting. The rigor of this material, combined with the warm wooden seat, fits perfectly into the simple and elegant kitchen design that owners are increasingly choosing.

Features of the furniture product

There are many options for kitchen stool models. Their common feature is the design, which includes a support and a seat. The materials used in the construction may vary, the size, style and decoration may also vary. The main thing in the manufacture of a stool is the stability indicator.

What is the difference between a chair and a stool? These furniture products are distinguished by the presence and absence of a backrest, but the stool has more advantages. It can be put away under the table; due to its practicality, the interior is not disturbed; the stools do not require much or careful care.

This product is so versatile that, regardless of your interior, you can choose more than one option. Furniture products differ in material and design. And now more details

Metal stools

Metal stools will look much better than wooden models in many interiors. They are a good alternative to plastic stools, which can be quite expensive due to their often modern design.

Metal stools can be a little heavier, but for example, you can find chunky folding metal stools that will work great in a small kitchen while still looking very stylish.

Features and characteristics of designer stools

Designer furniture is not a cheap pleasure. Its peculiarity is that it will not leave anyone indifferent. You can admire or be shocked by unusually shaped structures.

The advantages of such products include:

  • originality;
  • exclusivity;
  • high environmental performance;
  • quality;
  • functionality and comfort.

The disadvantages of such furniture are the price, which is several times higher than the average level, and the need for special care.

If we talk about such a product as a stool, then designers have come up with and created many original options. This is a simple piece of furniture, so the field for creativity is the supporting elements and seat, material, color.

At the same time, the product must retain its purpose - providing comfortable conditions for a sitting person.

Folding stools

Folding stool models are usually made from wood or aluminum. They are lightweight, simple in design, and can be easily transformed for storage.

Folding models are not inferior in strength to ordinary stools. They are convenient if the owners of the house periodically need to accommodate a large number of guests.

High-tech style stools

Just as flowing water turns into ice, melting aluminum can be modeled and turns into IGLOO. Reminiscent of the characteristic shape of Inuit dwellings, this stool has a natural, primitive elegance:
