General rules of use
Blue is considered a cool shade; it brings coolness to the room and refreshes it, so a good solution would be to use it in a room with windows facing south.
Blue color in the interior of a Greek-style bathroom
Light airy curtains in blue tones are simply irreplaceable for creating a cool, refreshing atmosphere on a hot summer day. Bright decorative elements, such as vases with flowers or dishes, will help complement the interior and add a sunny mood.
But does this mean that blue color cannot be used in the interior in winter or in the cold Russian climate? No, with the right combination and contrast, the room will be filled with “life” and bright colors.

White and blue bathroom
The combination of mint color in the interior with cream creates the effect of a delicate blue.
You can safely use this color in large quantities, as it is quite easy to perceive and does not weigh down the space. Light shades of blue can also be used as a basis for creating a bright design; its versatility is similar to white.

Advice!
The ceiling can be painted in sea green or sky color, as a replacement for classic white, to add extravagance and originality to the room, and if you stick luminescent stars on top, then at night you will get a real firmament of stars!
Combination: blue and red in the interior
This is a very contrasting and bright combination. Earthy red makes blue more airy and weightless, pure and sublime, while red begins to truly “burn” with its unbridledness. The red-blue combination is purposeful, it is the embodiment from idea to action, spiritual and communicative.

Bathroom in blue tones
The most popular color used in the bathroom is blue, and for good reason, because it is the color of rivers, lakes and seas, and it creates a stunning marine atmosphere in the bathroom. Thanks to blue shades and the current variety of coatings on tiles, you can turn the bathroom into a real relaxation area and get maximum pleasure and relaxation from water treatments, as well as aesthetic pleasure.
Beautifully tiled bathroom
Blue is also good because it goes perfectly with white. Therefore, with a white sink, pipes, bathtub and ceiling, you can decorate the walls with blue tiles, panels or waterproof paint. At the same time, if you use tiles with a pattern, then you need to cover two-thirds or half of the entire wall with them, otherwise it will create a feeling of heaviness, and besides, this technique will help to visually enlarge the space.

Combination: blue and blue in the interior
Blue color in combination with light blue in the interior adds contrast and expressiveness. These colors are almost never found without the support of white. The color blue aggravates the blue's isolation from life, filling it with complex intellectual thinking, ideals and ideas. The lacquered coastal waters turn into a wild, deep ocean, where will, strength and courage are needed.
Furniture
To choose furniture that really suits the style and color scheme, you need to follow a number of tips:
- upholstered furniture should have a color that will become the second most important in the interior;
- cabinet furniture is chosen in harmony with the main background of the walls or floor;
- classics welcome the entire palette of natural wood, while modern styles welcome bright colors, glass and metal parts, and interesting decor.
A blue and white sofa is perfect for a living room done in pastel colors. Even massive chairs of this color will look elegant and completely unobtrusive. For upholstered furniture in heavenly shades, it is recommended to select fabrics that are pleasant to the touch: velvet, velor.
In the kitchen, a blue set will give the room freshness and nobility and will harmonize perfectly with the light dining area. Hand-painted drawers, benches and small cabinets look lovely and add unique charm and personality to the kitchen.
Lighting
Every room decorated in heavenly colors should have very high-quality lighting. In addition to the central chandelier, all areas should be illuminated separately: we are talking about the work area in the kitchen, in the living room, the play area in the children's room, etc. In the area of the work desk or sink, the lamps should be bright enough to prevent discomfort to the eyes. If the blue tone occupies more than ½ of the area in the room, only lamps with a warm glow are used; in other cases, it is permissible to use white (cold) light.
Ceiling
Colored ceilings are considered a fashionable design solution. It is not necessary to make them too dark; using a heavenly tone is enough to enhance the feeling of lightness and airiness of the room. If the walls are also blue, the ceiling should be white or pastel blue. It is better to choose bright and effective lamps for suspended ceilings, just like the plinth. The latter looks good in silver or gold, of course, if it matches the style of the room.
Combination: blue and beige in the interior
Water and sand are a soft, stable, relaxing and aesthetic combination. Shades of beige look very noble in the interior; they hide flaws and maintain the style and status of the home. By adding a blue tint to beige, you add color to the neutral shades of beige, and the perfection of blue enhances the ideality of beige.
Blue armchairs and chairs
I don’t know why, but I really wanted to put this furniture in a separate category. And the very first and unusual interior in the photo:
What do we see? A light interior with white walls and ceiling, a dark sofa - an interior where there is not a hint of blue. But then, almost in the center, there is a bright blue chair with toys on it. As a result, the room is transformed, becoming brighter and more cheerful. I don’t know about you, but personally I’m just delighted with this design decision.
This idea is “weaker” than the previous one, but still not bad. Using a dark sofa, putting blue pillows on it and placing an armchair of the same color next to it is a standard solution and without a “zest,” but it’s quite good. The result is in the photo. The chair itself is very unusual - it is laconic and without any unnecessary elements.
Very attractive armchairs, vaguely reminiscent of either country style or classic style. In this case, the interior of the room is not visible, but you can see the beautiful combination of the white walls and table with these blue models of a piece of upholstered furniture.
And the latest models of chairs in the living room. Again we see the idea of putting bright elements in a gray or light interior. In this case, the idea worked and the interior turned out nice, but sometimes it may not work.
Chairs can also serve as a “highlight” in the room, but their role is still much less significant. Although some models can hardly even be called chairs, like this one, for example:
The photo shows pronounced minimalism with a very unusual chair (after all, it is a chair, because the chair should be soft). There is a real lack of large plasma on the wall, but that’s not about that now. The idea of combining a blue chair with white walls and side tables is not new, but it is very good.
In the kitchen, such chairs will come in handy, especially against the light blue background of the floor and walls. The result is visible in the photograph. It would be worthwhile to classify this picture as one of the first, but it will do...
And the last idea and photo for today. It looks like it's a kitchen, but it's not a wall. In principle, it makes no difference, because we are interested in the idea of using blue chairs in the interior and combining them with other colors. Here, in addition to light blue, yellow is also expressed - not an isolated case (in the photo above we have already seen a combination of these two shades).
