Step-by-step instructions for installing a swing door

Before starting work, carefully read the manufacturer's instructions, check the completeness and integrity of all elements. To install, you will need a level (laser or bubble), a drill with a set of pobedit drills, a marker, silicone, a screwdriver and hex keys.

Practical advice. During the manufacture of the structure, all manufacturers take into account that the partitions of the shower niche are made of monolithic or reinforced concrete. Taking this into account, the number of profile fixation points and dowel parameters are calculated. In most cases, partitions are made of weaker materials: foam blocks, hollow bricks, etc. If you have the same situation, then you need to drill additional fastening holes on the metal profiles, and increase the size of the dowels taking into account the strength of the masonry materials. Each supporting profile must have at least five fixation points; drill holes using a drill with a drill of the appropriate diameter.

Step 1. Mark the position of the vertical guide on the niche partition. This can be done using a laser or regular level. Be extremely careful, mistakes at this stage of work have very negative consequences. If the slope is several millimeters, then it will not be possible to drill new holes nearby; the profile will have to be shifted over long distances. As a result, holes will become visible on the ceramic tiles; it is impossible to seal them unnoticed; additional elements will have to be adapted as decoration.

Step 2: Carefully drill holes for the dowels in the marked locations. To do this, you need to use special drills, work carefully, do not allow the tiles to crack.

Step 3. To increase the reliability of installation of the plastic parts of the dowels, fill the holes with liquid nails, and immediately remove the squeezed out excess.

Step 4. Spread the profiles on the reverse side with sanitary antibacterial sealant. The fact is that the tiles have seams, water can leak through them.

Important. Never seal profiles after installing them; the sealant will definitely peel off after some time. It will have to be removed and the procedure repeated, which is long and difficult. The material in some places has strong adhesion to the surface of the tile; it must be carefully cut off with the sharp tip of a mounting knife. As a result, there is a high risk of scratches on the front side of tiles or metal profiles.

Step 5. Reinstall and screw the guide and insert the glass door panel into it. Pay attention that the hinges exactly coincide with the technological sockets, the door must hold securely and open/close easily. Secure the loops with special clamps.

Practical advice. Checking the horizontal installation of the door leaf is very simple. If it does not move in any position, then the guide is installed correctly. If the door spontaneously opens or closes a little, then there are deviations from horizontality. A slight slope may not be eliminated, but it must be kept in mind when marking the counter element on the opposite wall of the niche. Profiles can be inclined, but must be located in the same plane.

Step 6. Proceed to install the door response. It is not subject to significant forces; the number of fixing holes does not need to be increased. Mark the position of the profile. It must lie strictly in the same plane with the supporting profile. Under the level, make markings on the opposite wall of the niche. If the partitions are completely identical, then check the distance from the profiles to the ends of the partitions; they should also be equal.

Step 7. Drill holes for the dowels, silicone the back plane of the profile with antiseptic materials and secure the element with dowels.

Step 8. Install the handle on the glass sheet, do not forget to use silicone pads under the holes. Clamp the hardware carefully, do not forget that you are working with glass.

Step 9. Replace the bottom plate; the process is no different from installing profiles.

This completes the construction work. Check the functionality of the door and, if necessary, slightly adjust its position using special screws.

After this, limiters with rubber shock absorbers are installed on the upper guide on both sides. They are important because they prevent the doors from opening arbitrarily. The last step is installing the doors. Tilt the canvas slightly and place it under the panel, installing the sliders in the guides, first up and then down. If the doors move smoothly along both guides, then this is a high-quality installation.
