The photo zone is a cool thing. A photo zone can decorate your entire composition, the plot of the frame. Depending on what you want to achieve, you select accessories and colors. You also need to understand whether you adhere to minimalism or whether you like chic and a lot of details. In this article I will tell you how to make a photo zone at home.

How to make a photo zone with your own hands at home. Frame

Pipe and fastening system.

This version of the base for a banner or textile fastening is known to many. Its main advantage is the ease of assembly, the ability to replace pipes and connecting elements, due to which it is possible to create bases of different sizes. The main thing here is dexterity and intelligence. It will be easy to disassemble it later and send it for storage or transport it to another place.

From wooden beams

It is not so easy to assemble from a wooden beam, since you will need additional tools, such as a screwdriver, to build such a structure. But there are a number of positive aspects. You can attach whatever you want to it. You can use fabrics, branches, and various decorative elements on a rope.

Iron frame

If you know a welder, you can ask him to build a frame from iron pipes. But it will be more difficult to fold it after the celebration. It's heavier.

Photo zone frame made of plywood board.

You can use construction tools to cut out any shape, paint it, and decorate it with additional elements. The option is quite cheap. To install the finished shield, wooden supports made of timber or metal are used.

PVC photo zone frame

The basis for the photo zone can be made from PVC sheets or foam board. To obtain the effect of a smoothly and evenly stretched canvas and with a significant background size, structures made of wooden beams are used. In this case, two main options for the frame are possible: in the form of a frame, and in the form of a box.

Ladder

Chroma key background

I'm telling you. This background is used even in video shooting, and is generally ideal for photographs. The point is that this shade of green can be easily cut out of the photo and replaced with any other. In other words, you can then hand out photographs to your guests, even with a cosmic landscape.

Nowadays you can rent such a background, so it’s worth thinking about...

10 secrets you didn't even know about

1. Walk through all the rooms of your house or apartment. Surely you already have interesting places, colored wallpapers. I like dark wallpaper. Thanks to dark wallpaper, the silhouette of the person himself, his skin, stands out.

2. If you don’t have lighting devices - flashes, soft boxes, then you need to find a place by the window. If the walls next to the windows are not your favorite, then you still need to clear these areas for shooting to take advantage of the daylight from the window.

3. Having chosen a place, think about the idea. You need to understand what you want to photograph.

4. First, choose your wardrobe, and then match these colors and shades with the color scheme of your photo zone. I have articles on choosing colors and shades if this step causes you difficulties.

5. Having selected all the shades, start looking for accessories for your photo zone. I recommend either looking at Avito or Aliexpress. There you can choose anything for yourself in any color and wallet size.

6. Even if there are many accessories in the photo zone, the main subject of shooting is still you or some other person. Don't let the details distract from the subject itself.

7. If you don’t mind the wall by the window, then you can paint it a single color. Choose the appropriate shade and tint it.

8. If possible, make a photo zone from real flowers.

9. If you don’t have enough light from the window, and you don’t have a flash either, then use flashlights and table lamps. They can even illuminate the wall from behind.

10. Rifle through chests and old bags in the garage, pantry, or balcony. Or go to your grandmother in the village. And you will visit your grandmother, and maybe you will dig up something extravagant in her chests. For example, I could always find something interesting in my grandmother’s attic. Spinning wheels, old cast iron irons, scarves and all sorts of utensils were stored there. In the chests one could find both ancient shoes, dresses, hats, etc.

Slate

At first it may seem that such a background can only be in a school or other educational institution (by the way, in a design sense this idea is rarely used there). Of course, the decorator must write and draw on this board for a holiday photo shoot, otherwise the whole point is lost.

If you decide to make a custom chalkboard, search the Internet for “chalk surface production.” They will make boards of any color and shape. Even an apple and an angel.

How to make a photo zone with your own hands for a birthday

Birthday is a holiday. It should be filled with joy, magical moments, admiration and positivity. Therefore, I advise you to choose brighter colors for the photo zone. Pick two colors that you like and go with them.

1. Decorate the photo zone with photo frames

You probably have photo frames, those that are on the shelf and those that you have already put in the closet on the far shelf. Frames can be hung on ropes. And tie all the ropes to one large branch, or to another thick rope stretched along the wall. It is better to paint the frames one color. This is how you will feel harmony and a sense of taste and style. Different shapes, but the same color

2. Decorate the photo zone with fruits.

I'm not for a full range of fruits. Pick one fruit or vegetable and buy a lot of it. It will be a very impressive photo zone.

Bright fabric

Find a bright fabric and use a different color spray paint to write something on it.

4 Wings

Take a white cloth or large sheet of paper. Draw big wings on it. Everyone will come up and take pictures with wings.

Branch

Find a thick branch on the street and make a photo zone out of it with your own hands.

Paint it white. You can hang anything on it. Hang the branch on the wall. Or put this branch in a bucket of stones. You will get a tree. You can make 2 of these trees.

Lights

Buy a garland at the store. Preferably a large one or several. It is desirable that it be in the form of a curtain. All of it on the wall.

7. Buy brick-shaped wallpaper.

Stick it on the wall. You don't have to add anything else. You can also buy wallpaper with a board pattern.

Screen

If there is a screen in the house, then it can be used as a basis for decoration.

For boy

For girl

Excellent photo zone for a one year old.

Natural flowers

Branches and lights are a great solution.

How to make a letter for a photo zone?

A letter for a photo zone can be made from ordinary cardboard, plastic cups, a can of spray paint and glue. The letters are voluminous. the base can be either painted or covered with glitter or any decorative elements that you can find at home or in a store. Using the same technology you can make numbers for an anniversary.

Mimosa sprig

Mimosa is a beautiful delicate flower that decorates bouquets for the spring holidays. However, you can prolong the contemplation of this beauty by making a sprig of mimosa from napkins with your own hands.

This could be a wall panel or a voluminous plant that you put in a vase in your living room.

First you will have to work hard to form many flowers, each of which is made from a narrow strip of napkin cut into “grass”. Next, you need to cut the green napkin into leaves with fluffy edges.

You don't need a stem for the applique, but to make a bouquet you will need wire - wrap it with a green napkin, attach leaves, and cover it with many flowers.

Winter photo zone outdoors

The main thing is that there is no bitter winter frost outside. You can break the camera and appear in the photographs with a red nose, like Santa Claus. May you not be Santa Claus on New Year's Eve.

You can be a Snow Maiden with rosy cheeks. So we monitor the weather and choose a day without blizzards, blizzards and bitter frost. Although some of you will say the opposite. Photos in the cold turn out magical and fabulous if there is also sun outside. In general, it could turn out to be a fairy tale. Try this and that.

Use everything you see on the street. It could be a snow-covered Christmas tree, a bright red fence, a snowman that children made, rowan trees, lanterns, benches. All this can be used for a winter photo zone outside. Take a bright blanket with you. Wear a bright skirt and red lipstick if you're a girl. If you are a guy, then a bright jacket or tie, a fur coat, and felt boots will suit you.

Red blossoming rose

To make a beautiful scarlet rose with a blossoming bud, you will need two large napkins (about 20x20 cm). Cut each of them into four parts and put them together. Secure the middle with a stapler or thread.

From the resulting square of napkins you need to form a circle, cutting off the edges with scissors. Now, one by one, each layer needs to be lifted and formed into a petal, giving it a wave-like shape.

To make the rose even more magnificent, take more napkins for work. You can decorate your interior with beautiful buds or make a decoration for your outfit.

If you are planning a classic wedding, then the following accessories are suitable for such a wedding:

- metal arch for the garden, decorated with flowers and fabrics;

-chests, suitcases, suitcases, boxes;

- whatever you or your spouse are passionate about can become an element of decor.

The lights at night are mesmerizing.

Frames and flowers are a great solution.

An indoor frame is also a great option.

You can either order a coated board or make it yourself.

We buy ribbons or cut up the fabric that is no longer needed.

For example, if you do ballet, you can use pointe shoes, a tutu, etc. If your spouse is a motorcyclist, take a helmet, gloves, and the motorcycle itself for decoration.

If you are a gardener, then bring pots of flowers, etc. Fantasy has no boundaries and limits. If you like to skateboard, then ask your friends and make a wall of skateboards. Remember, the classics are flowers, candles, light fabrics, twigs. If you are bolder, then whatever comes to mind, based on what you are interested in.

Balloons are an original idea for any holiday. They can be used both in birthday decorations and as a wedding decor element.

Garden boxes for a photo zone are ideal if you decorate them a little.

If there is someone in your family who loves making things from wood, then you are lucky. The tree looks very textured and noble.

Cuttings, logs - all this is perfect for decorating a photo zone.

There are many ideas on how to make a photo zone with your own hands.

Balls

Helium balloons can fill the space against which your guests will pose. You can make several helium chains one above the other or put fountains of balloons on the floor (these are bundles of balloons on ropes of different lengths with a weight on the floor).

I don’t recommend making balloons that are too bright for the photo zone, as guests in colored clothes will get lost. Delicate colors (shades of green, gold, pink) or even balls of the same color will be very helpful in this case.

Materials for the photo zone

We have already listed a lot of things. But there are a couple more ideas. Photo zones can be made in a certain style. Choose all the accessories in the same style and you will have a great photo zone.

Styles: rustic, Provence, loft, Paris.

The most common ones are branches, balls, ribbons, flowers. Things that are not often chosen include household garbage, glass, metal, a lot of baskets, music instruments.

Fantas and other paper decorations

To be honest, this decorative element is called differently everywhere. This is simply a decorative fan folded from a long strip of paper. With phantoms you can very quickly cover a fairly large surface of the most inconspicuous wooden or plastic shield that you decide to turn into a photo zone. Here are many examples of their use in holiday decor.

There are quite a lot of master classes on the Internet that contain step-by-step instructions for making such a forfeit, and you can buy ready-made ones in “Everything for the Holiday” stores. Fant is also called a “decoration fan.”

Oh, by the way, by hanging pom-poms or Chinese hanging lanterns tightly, you will also get an excellent holiday backdrop. There are also paper stars, honeycomb balls, accordion balls, and tassel pom-poms. Follow the red links, everything is there with examples.

Place for a photo zone

Where else besides home can you arrange a photo zone? A photo zone can be made both at home and on the street, in a studio, in a hangar, on the river bank. Be sure to look where the sun is. If the photo zone will be located on the street, then be sure to think about the time of the photo shoot, where there will be sun. Don't plan a photo shoot during the day. The shadows on the face will be harsh and unsightly. Think about where the photographer will stand. Leave space in front so that there is at least 2 meters from the photo zone to the shooting location. Remove all distracting details near the photo zone.

Thematic banner (press wall) or tantamaresque

A wonderful thing for a photo zone. For family holidays, such a banner can be ordered and installed in a restaurant or even at home. A great way to take memorable photos of a wedding anniversary or anniversary.

Press wall can also be thematic. You can print anything, even decorations for your celebration.

The word “tantamaresque” just means the same banner, only it has slits for faces. They can be made small to fit only the face, or large rectangular. If a pompous border is printed around the rectangles, the effect is cheerful.

How to make a photo zone on the street or unusual places for photo zones

There are many ideas on how to make a photo zone with your own hands. What materials can you use to decorate a photo zone? Where else besides home can you arrange a photo zone?

You can use various materials to decorate your photo zone. If you like minimalism, then let there be one plain background, and the model’s clothes in some contrasting color. Also, if you like minimalism, then use lines. If the model has wavy hair, find something in the photo zone element that also adds wave. I myself like to make photo zones where the eye can already see, which in this place looks good even without my intervention. You just need to add a small element and the photo zone is ready. Go out into the yard, there’s probably either a colored wall or a large branchy tree there, like an oak. Earth, flowers and grass are also an excellent photo zone. And if you have a quadcopter or a stepladder, then use a green carpet strewn with flowers or greenery for your creative ideas.

If there is a small pond and a wooden boat plus a quadcopter, then feel free to put your model in the boat, launch the miracle technique and shoot. It will be especially impressive and beautiful in sunny weather, when clouds and blue sky are reflected in the water.

An excellent photo zone outside the home is shopping malls or residential complexes. Nowadays, these complexes always have one of the buildings painted brightly. You don't even need to add anything. All you need is a good idea, a perfectly chosen outfit. Yes, outfit is very important. If you have an antique Russian style, then probably a bathhouse, firewood, stove, forest, and various antique utensils are suitable for decorating a photo zone. But if you have a modern style, then choose apartment complexes with bright walls. But you can experiment. Often the best photos come out when you break all the rules in photography.

I like the way everything in nature is decorated. Especially in spring and autumn. Spring is full of awakening. Nature awakens, and with it various flowers and trees bloom. You can read about this in this article. In it I gave examples of where you can find beautiful places for photography in Moscow in the spring.

And autumn means leaf fall. Golden autumn is a gorgeous time of year, filled with amazing colors.

I hope I answered your questions about how to make a photo zone at home, on the street, for a birthday or a wedding.

Without a backdrop

Photo zones without a specially made backdrop are arranged in cases where the surrounding environment itself softens the light, or the natural light is soft enough. The first is a room with a whitewashed ceiling and light, preferably also whitewashed walls. The second is shooting in clean, transparent open air in spring or early autumn. Natural light is then still harsh, but flash illumination (see below) in this case brightens up the shadows well, because The characteristics of flash light are similar to natural light.

The simplest way to organize a photo zone in a bright, generally white room is new curtains for the holiday, pos. 1 in Fig.:

Photo zones without a hard backdrop

To obtain soft working lighting, taking into account shooting with flash, the window behind the curtains should face east, south or southeast, and the curtains themselves should be:

  1. translucent;
  2. general tone close to white, slightly yellowish;
  3. curtain pattern - large, sparse, warm, desaturated tones.

If the room is decorated in a light and warm tone, but not white, then at a distance of 0.7-1.5 m from the wall it should be blocked off with drapes made of white translucent fabric, pos. 2. Flash illumination then needs to be provided without reflection from the ceiling, see below.

For an outdoor photo zone under a canopy of trees in ordinary flat places in mid-latitudes, the best soft backdrop is made of white ribbons 10-15 cm wide, pos. 3. The glare from the light breaking through the foliage does not need to be completely suppressed, they work for the overall effect. But too bright and sharp glare can unacceptably clutter the picture, and this is where a ribbon photo zone comes into play: the fabric will act as a diffuser and diffuse reflector, and edge diffraction on ribbons swaying in the wind will blur the sharp boundaries of lights and shadows.

A similar solution is used when shooting in a room with a design fragmented in color, for example. decorated with brick or wild stone. In this case, tapes are taken that are contrasting in color, but not in brightness, and approx. equal color saturation with the decoration of the room: if it is warm, then cool (pos. 4), and vice versa. This solution allows you to avoid very unpleasant visually “dirty” tinted shadows. For more information on the peculiarities of organizing a photo zone against the backdrop of a brick wall, see the story:

Video: photo zone - imitation of a brick wall

Note: dark hearts forfeits on pos. 4 – the result of light absorption during multiple reflections. This also unpleasant effect manifests itself especially strongly when shooting with flash. The simplest way to correct it is to stick mugs made of white or colored paper onto the cores.

The opposite color case is an outdoor photo zone in the mountains or ecologically clean seaside. Natural light is harsh, its maximum brightness is shifted to the blue side. Shadows need to be highlighted, but the flash light is, to put it mildly, neither soft nor warm. In this case, the backdrop is also made of ribbon, but in warm tones and more saturated (approx. 65%), pos. 5.

Another special case is an indoor photo zone with white painted walls and a glossy floor. Even if you shoot without a flash, with special illuminators, the reflected light will have a strong polarized component, giving a lot of unpleasant effects. “Polyarik” (polarizing filter) will not help much here; without bright background sunlight it will make the picture dull and flat. The solution is to hang rare garlands of artificial flowers in an even more saturated warm tone, item 6. Diffuse re-reflection and edge reflection are enhanced compared to ribbons diffraction will be softened and warmed by work lighting.

The role of additional decor

Additional decor of the photo zone plays a significant role in its lighting technology. Dark holes in forfeits at pos. 4 fig. The above example is negative, but photo zone decorations can have a much greater positive effect.

To decorate a photo zone, decorative fans (fantas), artificial flowers, garlands, swags, curtains, lambrequins and other elements of decorative curtains are most often used. Homemade Christmas tree decorations, for example, can be used quite successfully for the same purpose. paper balls. It is convenient to decorate with phantoms a ready-made background that is already suitable as a photo backdrop, on the left in the figure:

Decorative elements of the photo zone

With paper flowers you can completely cover the most inappropriate background, and also use them when enhanced scattering of direct and/or reflected light is required, see above. Garlands of neutral tones are suitable as a background for a photo zone in cases where colored decorations are inappropriate, for example, in a church, on the right in Fig. Decorators of religious buildings are well versed in lighting technology, and if photography is allowed there, then most often you can shoot with a flash “directly” without fear of hopelessly ruining the picture. For more information on the general principles of decorating a photo zone, see the video:

About colors for the photo zone

Making artificial flowers is a series of separate large topics. For a photo zone, it is advisable to choose those whose core, when directly illuminated by hard, fairly coherent and polarized flash light, does not produce a dark hole in the image. Visually it may be invisible, but there is no lens yet that can see like an eye and is not in sight.

Of the paper flowers for decorating a photo zone, peonies and roses are best suited, see picture:

How to make paper flowers

The first ones - especially since they simply come from forfeits. Let's put it this way: first we decorate the photo zone with only phantoms. We take a test shot, examine it, analyze it, and based on the results of the analysis, we convert some of the forfeits into peonies. For information on making artificial flowers with your own hands, see the video selection:
