Plastic, as a finishing material for ceilings, is now becoming increasingly widespread. If we compare it with other types of ceiling finishing, this method will cost more than materials and installation work used in other cases. However, the subsequent cost of operating the plastic ceiling covering itself will be significantly lower.

The concept of plastic ceilings includes specific types of ceiling coverings - Armstrong, Grilyato and others similar. Installation diagrams and suspended structures assembled from simple load-bearing elements and plastic panels of various sizes and colors have been specially developed for them. There are a huge number of different instructions explaining the correctness and sequence of assembling such ceilings.

Plastic after installation does not require any additional processing of the front surface. Even with very heavy contamination with soot and soot from gas stoves in kitchens, plastic easily restores its original decorative qualities and color scheme. This is ensured by simple washing with plain water and soapy water.

Plastic as a finishing material for ceilings

PVC plastic is hygienic, under normal conditions it does not emit any chemical fumes harmful to humans, and is resistant to biological contamination in the form of rot, mold and fungus. Its destruction begins to occur at temperatures not lower than 120 degrees Celsius.

On both sides of the coin: advantages and disadvantages of plastic panels

Well, how can we do without the usual analysis of the material? No way! We consider it our responsibility to talk about all the nuances and qualities of the product, because highlighting only the advantages and hiding the disadvantages is simply ugly!

Pros:

  • strength;
  • long service life;
  • plastic;
  • moisture resistance;
  • resistance to ultraviolet rays;
  • easy cleaning job;
  • installation allows you not to worry about leveling the ceiling;
  • acceptable price;
  • large range of products;
  • Possibility to install panels yourself.

The material allows you to install electrodes, halogens, and lamps in direct contact with the product. Any wires will run out of human visibility.

The drawing allows you to focus on areas of the room. You can simply find panels with a pattern that creates an optical effect

Installation work is extremely simple and does not require large tools.

Minuses:

  • reducing the height of the walls by several centimeters;
  • the need to install a frame;
  • a small number of textures and textures.

As we see, there are no significant shortcomings.

Design and colors

Thanks to modern materials, you can update your ceiling without much difficulty. The easiest way is to use ceiling panels. With their help, you can create both standard and the most unimaginable interior design. In addition to traditional materials - metal, plastic, wood, glass, special moisture-resistant and acoustic hanging products can be used.

Properly selected wooden lining looks great on the ceiling. You can create weighty compositions from natural material, giving it different textures and colors. Cork, bamboo plates, and mineral lining made of sawdust look original. Such a ceiling would be appropriate in an eco-friendly interior.

Gray metal panels will look good in a high-tech, minimalist interior. A popular solution is alternating matte and glossy slabs. Painted polymer, tension surfaces will complement the art house. The most imaginative design can be realized using structures made of polyvinyl chloride. Products are produced in various textures, colors, shapes. Mirror and glass elements cover any room. A popular design idea is voluminous ceiling decor. The surface with 3D elements in the form of waves, honeycombs, and various vegetation looks original.

What types of PVC ceiling panels are there?

At the moment, there are three main types of plastic panels: slatted, tile-like and sheet. In general, it is more convenient to divide PVC products by shape and texture, size and color. The traditional size is from 20 to 50 cm in width and from 5 to 10 mm in thickness.

Surface can be matte or glossy

The length of the products is selected taking into account the room and ranges from 2.6 m to 6 m.

The color range is not yet presented in a wide range, but the presented shades and patterns are already enough for a good choice

Tips for choosing

The variety of types and shapes of panels makes their choice difficult. First of all, you should decide on the material of manufacture. It should match the overall interior of the room, wall and floor decoration. In order for the structure to last for a long time, the choice should be made taking into account the characteristics of each type:

  • Plastic plates must be smooth with a clear geometry and uniform distribution of the pattern. To ensure sufficient strength, the element must be squeezed with force with your fingers;
  • Wooden products should not have cracks or chips. For each type of wood, small errors are acceptable, which reduces their cost. But it is better to use elements with a clear pattern, without burrs, scratches, or blue stains;
  • Foam blocks should be selected only with a smooth, clear, identical pattern over the entire surface. High-quality tiles do not break when dropped or lightly shaken;
  • 3D panels have various characteristics and features. When giving preference to this type of finishing, you should take into account the purpose of the room. These can be natural models, fireproof, moisture resistant;
  • Aluminum parts must have a minimum thickness of 0.5 cm. If they are thinner, the structure can quickly deform at the initial stage of operation.

Ceiling design made of plastic panels in the kitchen, bathroom and hallway with photo examples

The choice is determined by the specifics of the premises and the preferred design. If you can install a dark ceiling in the hallway, then for the kitchen you should consider white, cream, beige, soft blue and light green colors.

Advice! If the room is small, then pastel shades will not visually steal a centimeter.

The moisture resistance of the material is ideal for the kitchen: the design with such a ceiling is charming

Any colors will look good in the bathroom if they match the tone of the walls

In the kitchen, plastic lining looks good and is very easy to clean

Small hallways look neat with this decoration. And the non-standard texture seems to turn everything upside down

Stretch ceiling

Stretch ceilings are the most popular type of finishing, because... it's fast, cheap and beautiful. You can make ceilings in a three-room apartment in a day. They come in glossy, matte, and any shade. You can apply any design to the canvas.

The “starry sky” ceiling looks beautiful.

Types of stretch ceiling:

  • PVC is the cheapest and therefore most common;
  • fabric - more expensive, does not differ in appearance from fabric.

Installation principle:

  • A wall edge is installed around the perimeter (using a laser level). The minimum gap is 5 cm from the bottom point;
  • the canvas is attached to the edge grooves with a special spatula;
  • the canvas is heated by a gas heat gun, which causes it to stretch.

Advantages:

  • quickly installed;
  • large selection of materials and colors;
  • installation of built-in lamps;
  • increased protection against leaks, but only if there are no spotlights or chandeliers.

It is not a panacea for flooding by neighbors, because... There is a gap between the wall and the wall edge.

Flaws:

  • fades or turns yellow (if white);
  • the likelihood of defects appearing (if fallen pieces of plaster or debris fall, dark spots remain and can be cut during use);
  • It can stink (even a good one stinks for a few days after installation).

Advice

I strongly recommend working only with reliable contractors. Avoid fly-by-night companies so that if problems arise, you have someone to file a claim with. But there can be problems, believe me.

I know of several cases when, when installing a stretch ceiling, workers aimed a heat gun at plastic windows and they melted.

Rarely, but it still happens, gas cylinders explode. Imagine the consequences of such an explosion!

Such cases are possible only in winter. Masters, when filling a cylinder at a gas station for cars, blow it out to the maximum so that it lasts longer. And according to the rules, the balloon needs to be inflated by 30%, no more. When the cylinder is brought from a cold street into a warm room and begins to work, the temperature in the room rises to 60-70 degrees. The gas expands accordingly and BAM!!!

Tips for use:

  • if your neighbors flooded you and the ceiling sagged like a bubble, call the offices that handle the installation. You will not be able to eliminate the consequences on your own. It is extremely important that no moisture remains on the film, because of this, various bugs can hang there. Once we dismantled an old suspended ceiling and found a lot of insect corpses there;
  • wash the film with special products, otherwise stains will remain;
  • If the fabric is torn, then stick double-sided tape at the cut site, and glue some decorative gag (butterfly or flower) onto it. You can decorate regular patches in the same way.

Prices:

  • cheap Chinese PVC film with installation will cost 550 rubles/sq.m;
  • installation of a chandelier 500 rubles;
  • installation of a spotlight 400 RUR/piece;
  • pipe bypass (heating riser, ventilation, air conditioning, etc.) RUB 150/piece.

How to choose plastic panels - recommendations from our editors

If you haven’t found your name on the Forbes list this morning, but you really want to do some repairs, then choosing plastic panels for it will probably be the most suitable option. It’s really inexpensive, beautiful, and quite feasible even for a person without any skills in interior decoration.

In the catalogs of construction and finishing stores you can always find a variety of PVC models

What to do to avoid wasting money:

  • Did you see a beautiful product? Close your eyes to this and study its quality: is the shape even, are there any waves, deflections, creases, dents? Or maybe there are chips along the edges? If so, then put it aside and look further!
  • take the panel with the front side facing you and try to look at it through the light source - the transverse partitions of the cells should not be noticeable in the light;
  • the more stiffening ribs, the stronger the model;
  • press on the product: if there is no dent or crease, then the quality is fine.

The main question: how much does it cost to cover the ceiling with plastic panels? To answer, you need to take into account the availability of working tools in the house and the price of the material itself

What material to choose for covering the ceiling with plastic?

When choosing a material, it is worth noting the following nuances.

Panel dimensions - length, width, thickness:

Dimensions must be selected taking into account the length and width of the room, since a large amount of waste will significantly affect finances.

External data

The quality of the material will also be important - it is better to choose a more expensive one, but of higher quality, then it will last longer. Fortunately, this is easy to do, even purely visually:

  • There should be no holes or dents throughout the entire surface.
  • The coloring of the entire element should be clear and monochromatic - with the exception of elements made using the gradient technique.
  • The presence of bends and deformations is not allowed, with the exception of only minor ones, which will be corrected during installation on the frame.
  • The pattern of stiffeners should not be reflected on the surface.
  • 1.5-2 mm - the minimum thickness of the walls and ribs should be this.
  • The entire surface should be smooth and pleasant to the touch.
  • Before purchasing, you need to check the strength of the tongue-and-groove fastening. They should happen easily and have no gaps.
  • The plastic should bend well during installation, so you need to bend the edge of the panel and wiggle it a little, if there are no marks left, then the material is good.

How to make a ceiling from plastic panels on a frame

The material has been purchased, extraneous furniture and people have been removed from the room, it’s time to start installing a ceiling made of PVC panels with your own hands! The sequence of work consists of preparing and installing the frame and installing the panels themselves. To help with clarity, we suggest watching a video on installing a ceiling made of PVC panels with your own hands:

Assembling a frame from guide elements

First, prepare the working surface: the old ceiling is cleaned of dirt or previous finishing material. Next comes the stage of marking the frame: you need to draw a line that you should follow when attaching the profile. The markings are made on a sheet of paper: the lathing is made with a light CD profile. The ideal step between the cross bars is 60 cm.

The work can be carried out by one person

For installation you will need a drill and dowels: keep in mind that it takes 1 dowel per half meter of profile and 1 self-tapping screw per half meter of panel.

Nuance! If a wooden frame is used, you can use 6 mm staples instead of self-tapping screws.

Fasteners for the horizontal profile must be installed around the entire perimeter: rigid UD guide profiles are placed on the dowels. The transverse frame is installed on U-shaped fastenings

Important! The work is based on the building level, which will not allow the frame to be made askew.

Installation of PVC panels on the ceiling

After installing the frame, all that remains is to find out how to attach PVC panels to the ceiling. The installation takes little time, and the job is also easy to do. If you have the necessary tools, then after installing the frame you can immediately begin further assembly. It is better to prepare a new hacksaw and a soft simple pencil in advance.

Do-it-yourself suspended ceiling made of plastic panels

PVC sheets are cut to the required length, if required, taking into account that the length of each panel should be 5 mm less than the distance between the two walls. Installation is carried out starting from the window. First, fastening strips are attached to the profiles, into which skirting boards can be installed.

The first sheet is pushed into the opening formed between the baseboard and the profile strip. Fastening is done using a self-tapping screw with a wide head.

Now the work goes like clockwork: each panel slides into the groove of the previous one and is attached with self-tapping screws to the frame

After installing the last panel, the work is considered completed: you can put everything in order.

Kinds

Today there is a wide range of products made from polyvinyl chloride on the market. The material is classified depending on its purpose, size, connection method, and surface characteristics.

Tiled

It is possible to imitate different variations of ceramic tiles if you use PVC tile panels for the bathroom or kitchen.

Design solutions for PVC can contain combinations of plastic and ceramic or cover the entire wall surface. There are products on which the tiles are painted with different masonry options: standard, checkerboard, with inserts of individual elements.

Wall

Wall panels are produced up to 1 cm thick, from 2.7 to 4 m long and up to 0.5 m wide.

The choice of interior options that can be realized using polyvinyl chloride products is unlimited.

Manufacturers offer elements of calm monochromatic colors, bright patterns, decorated with floral designs or abstract compositions.

Wall panels with the same joints can be easily combined with each other, thus further increasing the design possibilities of the product.

Using additional elements (corners, connectors), it is easy to finish complex areas, slopes, and corners with plastic.

Leafy

For wall finishing, there is another type of finishing material - in the form of sheets, with a length of up to 4 m, a width of 50 cm to 2.3 m. Products of this type are: thin - 1 mm or thicker - 30 mm.

A distinctive feature of such PVC panels is that their dimensions allow one element to cover a large area with minimal effort, which is convenient during installation.

Sheet material imitates various embossed or smooth surfaces:

  • slate;
  • mosaic;
  • tiles;
  • brick;
  • wood.

Lining

A stylish, aesthetic appearance of the room can be created if you use material that is made to look like lining.

Along with low maintenance, low load on the wall, complete immunity to corrosion, and 100% moisture resistance, the buyer receives a reliable, simple structure made to look like sanded wood.

The material is produced 48 mm thick, up to 30 cm wide and 0.9 to 3 m long.

The most common 2 options:

  • “Polka” (with a narrow type locking system);
  • Eurolining (with a standard size lock).

With 3D effect

Ceramic tiles, wood, and natural stone coated with a layer of varnish can be imitated well if you use panels with full-color 3D printing.

The interior is made using a composition of ornaments and paintings made up of 3D drawings.

An unlimited color palette, seamless structure, good heat and sound insulation qualities, but not without several drawbacks:

  • the price of some types of PVC is high;
  • you need to make lathing during installation, which will somewhat reduce the space of the room.

With thermal transfer

Polyvinyl chloride with thermal transfer is produced in entire collections. Technologies make it possible to apply patterns and images to polymer film quickly and efficiently. The pattern on the surface is fixed at high temperatures.

Product length – from 2.7 to 6 m, thickness – 0.8-1 cm, width – 25 cm.

The variety of patterns decorating plastic makes it possible to create an original design for a bathroom or kitchen, while simultaneously providing waterproofing, protection from mold and rot, and the absence of cracking over time.

Laminated products

The image is glued to the front part of the PVC panel so that a protective laminated layer is formed on top. It protects the pattern from damage, thereby improving the performance parameters of the product.

The PVC product is available in thicknesses up to 12 mm, length 2 m and width 25 cm.

To correctly calculate the required amount of material, you need to measure the surface area and subtract the squares for the openings for doors and windows.

How to attach plastic panels directly to the ceiling

Attaching PVC panels to the ceiling can be simply glued if the conditions are suitable:

  • Smooth surface;
  • relatively dry room.

If the room is completely dry, then purchase glue for plastic, which is applied to the panel. It is simply glued to the ceiling, starting from the corner near the window of the room. If the room is exposed to moisture, then fastening can be done using “liquid” nails. At the final stage, a ceiling plinth is attached around the perimeter.

Slatted aluminum ceiling

Suitable for bathroom, hallway, kitchen. With the right approach, you can use it anywhere.

The slats are attached to special comb strips, they snap into place. These combs can be attached to the sheathing or directly to the rough ceiling, that is, installation is possible without a noticeable reduction in the height of the ceilings.

There are two types of slatted ceilings:

  • with a gap - there is a distance between the slats. Decorative strips can be inserted into this distance;
  • no gap - no space between the slats.

Advantages:

  • installation of built-in lamps;
  • moisture-resistant - if the neighbors flooded, then it doesn’t matter to him, the water passed through the slats, they wiped it with a rag and that’s it;
  • many colors and textures;
  • hides communications;
  • possibility of sound insulation.

Flaws

  • patina appears;
  • risk of edge damage (bending) during installation, that is, installation skill is required;
  • The space is hidden if spotlights are installed or heat and sound insulation are installed.

Price 1550 rubles/sq.m. (materials 650 rubles/sq.m. and installation from 900 rubles/sq.m.).

Features of installing spotlights in a ceiling made of plastic panels

When choosing a lamp, do not forget that plastic can melt from excessive heat. This is why incandescent light bulbs and gas-charging lamps are not suitable for installation in PVC sheet ceilings. But 40 W LED lighting would be appropriate.

Lamps can be an interesting highlight

Expert's point of view

Dmitry Kholodok

Technical director of repair and construction

Ask a Question

“Choose light bulbs that have a sealing level of IP44 or higher.”

Important! The number of lamps for one transformer is 4 pieces - with a wire length not exceeding 250 cm.

It is better to start lighting work before the ceiling is completely assembled

To install lighting, prepare everything you need in advance: wires, lamps, electrical tape, terminal blocks, switches. Having determined the location of each lamp, markings are applied to the ceiling. It is important not to get on the joints of the panels or on the profile.

If there is no drill with a suitable attachment, then use a compass and a stationery knife. All work on making holes is carried out without pressing on the plastic! Working with a stationery knife, make a cut inside the circle.

Important! Drill only on an uninstalled panel!

We insert the lamp into the hole, snapping it onto the springs. Do not forget that work with wires is carried out only with the voltage turned off in the entire house. The wires are exposed and connected to the cartridge

Types of frame

Using a frame is the most common method of installing PVC panels yourself. The base for creating a ceiling covering must be reliable. This requires marking and installation of a frame for the structure.

The building level will help determine the lowest point of the surface collapse. Based on this, lines are drawn on all four walls. These marks are necessary to correctly install the frame.

Hanging view

Proper assembly of the hanging frame ensures a high-quality finish. To do this you need:

  1. Cut the metal profile to the required size and attach it to the line. Make holes in the wall, as well as in the profile with a pitch of 300 mm for installing dowels.
  2. Next, you should install the hangers and fix the metal profile. Using screws, secure the ends of the profile.
  3. A fixation of the hanging profile is created. Its edges must be tucked and secured with screws in the cavity of the load-bearing profile along the perimeter of the wall.

In places where it is planned to install lighting devices, it is necessary to strengthen the fastening of the structure. Sometimes cuts are made in the profile for this purpose.

On a surface

Installation of the frame when finishing the ceiling surface is carried out as follows:

  1. The supporting structure is installed as in the first option.
  2. Next, a profile or beam is screwed to the ceiling. The length of the fasteners in this case must be at least 60 mm.
  3. If the ceiling has unevenness, then bars are installed, onto which the frame is then attached.
  4. The creation of the frame occurs on the basis of markings and using a building level.

Ceiling sheathing is sometimes done to hide electrical wires or install lighting fixtures.

The plastic coating installed on the metal frame has a long service life. The economical option in the form of wooden slats is easy to install, but it lasts much less.

Features of operation and care of plastic ceiling panels in various rooms

Although plastic is not a capricious material, it nevertheless also requires care. According to the specifics of the room, the method of cleaning the ceiling is also selected.

Ceiling made of plastic panels in the bathroom, toilet and kitchen

The bathroom, kitchen and toilet are rooms with high levels of humidity. The moisture resistance of PVC panels was already mentioned above, but it was not stated that such products do not need to be used correctly.

A clean ceiling is impossible without maintenance

Grease can get on the ceiling and remain there as yellowish-brown frozen droplets that are not so easy to wash off. Therefore, you need to make it a rule to wipe the panels with a moderately damp cloth every time after cooking in a frying pan.

The bathroom also leaves its mark on the panels: limescale leaves unsightly stains

You can wipe the ceiling made of PVC panels in the bathroom and toilet with a microfiber cloth or melamine sponge.

In any room you should carefully inspect the lining for dirt in order to remove it immediately

In the corridor, on glazed balconies and loggias

There is no cooking in the corridor, on the balcony or loggia, there is no steam, there is no high humidity: in such rooms, other than brushing off a certain amount of dust from the panels, nothing is required.

If you rub products with abrasive substances, they will quickly lose their attractive appearance.

In any room, it is important to do wet cleaning once every one and a half to two months, not forgetting about the ceiling covering

Characteristics

Kitchen ceiling panels have many characteristics that you need to rely on when choosing a specific model. This concerns the level of moisture resistance, durability and appearance. In this regard, PVC options are considered the leader.

You also need to pay attention to manufacturers, compatibility with the interior and environmental friendliness of materials.

Preparation method

Ceiling panels for the kitchen can be made in several ways:

  • thermal film: the design is applied to a special film, after which it is applied to the surface of the product and glued under strong pressure;
  • direct printing: the image is printed on the outside of the product using special equipment (you can order your own photo).

The first type of panels costs much less, but is not durable, since the film can peel off or swell over time. The second option is much preferable, and with a photograph it becomes exclusive.

Shape and dimensions

Another important characteristic is the shape and size. They are closely related (one of the indicators becomes limiting or determining for the second)

The kitchen ceiling can consist of the following types of panels:

  • tiled: the surface is always smooth, they have a square shape with a side of 30 to 98 cm, they allow you to easily create various patterns;
  • slatted: slats have a width from 13 to 30 cm and a length from 90 to 300 cm;
  • sheet: have the largest dimensions with a width from 50 to 122 cm and a length from 98 to 244 cm, which makes self-installation difficult.

The thickness of the products ranges from 0.5 to 1 cm. Strength and durability depend on it. Sheet panels, given their size, may have a smaller thickness, which is why they are easily damaged during installation.

Surface

Ceiling panels are available in various colors. The best option for the kitchen is white or beige, but if you wish, you can find rarer shades or choose models with a pattern.

The surface can be of two types:

  • matte (virtually does not reflect light, ideal for most interiors);
  • glossy (the varnish coating reflects light, making the ceiling shiny, the surface is water-repellent).

The desired design can be created by selecting the relief. The panels are joined seamlessly, creating a smooth surface, or have decorative bevels that add interest to the ceiling due to the indentations at the joint. You can find relief models that imitate lining. They are characterized by increased durability and strength.

Review of prices of plastic ceiling panels depending on type and size

Not everyone wants and not everyone can install a ceiling from PVC panels on their own. It’s easier to find out what the price is for work at the nearest house and apartment finishing company and, with the help of the employees, cover the ceiling with plastic panels without any problems.

You can buy plastic panels for the ceiling either online or simply by visiting a nearby hardware store.

In the catalogs you can find panels as both ceiling and wall coverings

On average, a ceiling made of plastic panels costs from 100 rubles per piece and, accordingly, less than 400 rubles per m2. But panels are bought either in packaging or individually.

Happy ceiling renovation!

Modular suspended ceilings

In this category I include all types of ceilings for which you need to assemble a cellular frame. This frame serves as the basis for square panels, usually 60x60 cm, or lamps of the same size. A damaged element can be replaced at any time, which is very convenient. This includes:

  • Armstrong;
  • Cassette;
  • Grilyato;
  • Baffle.

Their difference lies in the type of profile used for the frame, and, of course, the tiles. Such ceilings are mainly used for offices, but their use in an apartment is quite acceptable. It all depends on how the designer uses this solution in the interior.

The frame is attached to the perimeter guides, as well as to the ceiling using hangers. The length of the hangers is adjustable to level the frame.

Advantages:

  • difference in color solutions;
  • quickly install;
  • the ability to install it yourself;
  • the ability to replace individual elements;
  • hides communications.

Flaws:

  • hides space due to hangings (minimum 15-20 cm).

Armstrong

Mineral fiber boards are used. The surface of the tile can be smooth, rough, with a wormhole pattern, or perforated. The panels also have a different edge, which determines the appearance of the outer (front) surface after installation. The panels absorb sounds well.

Price 650 rubles/sq.m. (materials 300 rubles/sq.m. and labor 340 rubles/sq.m.).

Cassette

A cassette panel made of aluminum or galvanized steel is laid on the frame in the same way as a classic Armstrong.

Price 790 rubles/sq.m. (materials 450 rubles/sq.m. and labor 340 rubles/sq.m.).

Grilyato

Also called a lattice ceiling. The profile has special slots into which the lattice panel is inserted.

Price 940 rubles/sq.m. (materials 600 rubles/sq.m. and labor 340 rubles/sq.m.).

Baffle

Ceiling with increased acoustic protection. Metal panels have a mineral wool liner. It belongs to designer ceilings, which is why it is expensive.

Price 1140 rubles/sq.m. (materials 800 rubles/sq.m. and labor 340 rubles/sq.m.).

Alternative MDF options

In addition to plastic ceilings, there are several other options, such as aluminum suspended ceilings, foam ceilings, ceilings made from wood boards.

Foam ceilings are a budget option, suitable for installation in a bathroom or kitchen. The slabs are light in weight and come in many colors. Foam boards are not subject to rotting and mold, and are easily glued to the ceiling with special adhesives.

Foam ceilings

One of the possible options for finishing the ceiling in a wooden house or cottage made of vulture panels is the installation of a suspended structure made of MDF panels. Wood boards are made from chips by hot pressing under vacuum conditions. Lingin, which is approved in pharmacology, is used as a binder in MDF ceiling boards. The products are sensitive to humidity and therefore cannot be used in the bathroom. MDF elements have connecting elements on the sides, which fit together like a tongue and groove and do not form gaps. The material has an affordable price, is easy to install and is highly environmentally friendly. In wooden houses or cottages made of vulture panels, an MDF ceiling will be an excellent addition to the interior.

Ceiling made of MDF panels

If it is necessary to install a suspended ceiling in rooms with high requirements for sound insulation and sound absorption, then acoustic panels are used. The main places for installing such ceilings are: cinemas, theaters, industrial premises, sports and entertainment halls. Acoustic panels can be made of foamed melamine, perforated metal with filler, or fiberglass. Acoustic products allow you to create a comfortable sound environment and protect the room from noise and echoing. Acoustic slabs are produced in various sizes and colors, allowing you to create an individual style in the interior. Inside prefabricated houses made of vulture panels, such ceilings improve the sound insulation of interior rooms.

Acoustic panel ceiling

Advantages of the material

PVC panels for ceilings have many advantages that ensure the growing demand for products when decorating apartments and country houses from vulture panels:

  • moisture resistance of the material, resistance to microorganisms and pests. Such finishing materials, along with foam products, can be used in wet bathrooms and unheated balconies. They are suitable for finishing rooms with wooden ceilings and walls made of vulture panels;
  • simple dry installation does not require special skills or specialized equipment. Fastening to metal profiles is done with staples or self-tapping screws; PVC can be glued to wooden slats. The small size of the products allows the work to be completed without the involvement of hired workers;
  • suspended structures hide wires, ventilation, pipes, and allow the installation of built-in lamps. The maximum light from lamps is obtained if mirror elements or combined ceilings are used;
  • Between the ceiling and the base it is possible to place insulation and soundproofing material. Insulators will protect against extraneous sounds. For greater noise protection, acoustic ceilings can be installed;
  • the low price of PVC materials is available to any buyer.

The panels are secured to metal profiles or wooden slats are used; if necessary, the structure can be disassembled and reassembled. In this case, the last part can be fixed with glue or tape.
